I love how Sonic does his Adventure Pose in beyond melee.
-
I love that the new characters looked like they were from that era, especially charizard
-
I really love mods which feels like extensions of the original game, not just in mechanics but in visual style, time period and being logical inclusions. Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is getting a similar modding boom ATM and I love that all the modders just add Marvel and Capcom characters to it, makes it feel more official
-
I find it bizarre that the Akaneia build doesn't actually include an Akaneia stage
-
I honestly only play beyond melee a ton because it has something that the hardcore sonic fan in me loves, giving sonic a moveset that isn't just him being in ball form like the official smash games. Like giving him his boost and the dropdash as specials, while also having great references in his nair being one of the tricks in the advance series, and up air being the adventure pose as a kick. it all feels so much better than sonic's actual representation in smash

These mods, along with Melee’s source code decompilation in the works makes me super excited to see what’s next for this game. It’s essentially my childhood getting DLC.
-
You mean to tell me there’s 3 different mods based off an unused Fire Emblem Archenea stage And none of them actually made an Archenea stage?
-
"Every Super Smash Brothers game has a modding scene." Smash 4 Modding scene: ...
-
Thank you so much for covering our work on Akaneia! I also really appreciated the Melee 64 shoutout. :-)
-
Volleyball and tag should be an official mode in the series, cool innovations for casual/competitive play
-
The Akaneia build has since added Sonic and Lucas into the game. It's nice to see this project get more updates.
-
"What do you look for in mods" A mod that makes Bowser, Kirby, and Pichu S Tier and Fox, Falco, Marth, and anyone else at the top F Tier. Matter of fact, full-flip the tiers. "Revenge of the Fs"

All Is missing Is Ridley, King K. Rool, and Banjo Kazooie for both Smash Remix and Melee HD.

10:28 Yo, they gave Sonic his Sonic Adventure pose as part of his up air! From the brief animation I saw of Sonic in this video, I already feel like he's a bit better than normal Smash sonic when it comes to style. From the poses and the motion blur on his attacks, this feels more like Sonic to me. Brawl's version was pretty good, but he just got less and less expressive over time. Sonic got done dirty.
-
I read really incredible how they managed to replicate melee’s style that well. It’s magical to see a mod that looks good enough to be official
-
Imagine if Akaneia made an experimental patch that intentionally added some Melee Jank™ to their characters, like having Charizard's Rock Smash give you temporary superarmor when you interrupt it by falling off a ledge.
-
I just love that the Melee scene is making up for criminal lack of Star Fox characters in Brawls scene
-
"And even Flare Blitz, though surprisingly, he doesn't deal any self-damage when using this move." So it's basically more like Dragon Rush (a custom variant from SSB4, which is less powerful but hits multiple times, starts up faster and doesn't deal self-damage), then?
-
Imagine if the akaneia project become the acrtual of playing melee competitively since it’s just melee but better
-
The fact they made the trailers for wolf and the others to how they did in vanilla melee gives me hope that a god actually exist, They're filled with so much charm.
