💙 Who are we?
We are Ben and MP!
Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way.

When you clamp cables you always put the saddle of the clamp on the load side and the hoop on the dead end. Always remember " NEVER SADDLE A DEAD HORSE'.
  • @KenFeltman
The look on MP's face @ the end tells the whole story, it's finally a real sailboat!
  • Yaba is looking so proud with her sails & rigging coming together . MP & Ben you're getting closer everyday to becoming cruisers !
  • @DeanCoker

you two are putting a lot of sanity back into this troubled world, well done for that,x
  • Good morning favorite YouTube folks!!! Make sure when you pluck the standing rigging it doesn’t play a “brown note.” 😂 Edit: M.P. Has the prettiest face in the closing shot. What a smile.

Looking good. I did notice you put the cable clamps on wrong. Never saddle a dead horse. Put the round end on the dead side and the saddle on the live end. Can’t wait to see you in full sail. Keep up the good work.

MP looked great in that blue and white striped shirt 🌹. Very appropriate for a sailor ❤😊
  • I have followed both of you from the beginning and now I feel so proud for you both. Having the sails up and the effort it took even I was excited to see the results of your faith and labours over the years. Please do not stop the weekly vlog now you are so near sailing off over the horizon. Love you both, love the boat and love to your families who have supported you throughout. Alistair

You folks have learned a lot about rigging and adjusting. But now having a "rigger" stop by to make final adjustments is very helpful. They see stuff you don't see yet.
  • @claramullen
Oh my goodness that is fantastic to get the sails installed. I know I am going to cry when they are hoisted for your first sail with them. ⛵️ ❤

”The metal ring”… I’m calling it wire thimble. 😊 Can’t wait to see Yaba sailing.

this penguin has visited so often , it needs its own bed. i love that we are now building a boat with occasional breaks of undersea salvage and marine wildlife photography.
  • And just in case you forgot Ben and MP the boat needs a Radar on the main mast and you need a crew and MP`s pinguin is back !!!....❤💯
  • The sails for Yaba look absolutely beautiful! You made it look pretty easy, but I envision a couple of crew members in the near future so you can actually enjoy sailing this yacht... Love you folks, you have worked extremely hard, now try to enjoy your dreams! 🤩😍🤩

Well over a thousand miles from an ocean and over a mile higher than the sea I've watched from the very first day when Roberta and Duca came to your sinking boat You two should be so proud of yourselves and all the hard work you've done. Through you my dreams are still alive and the joy of seeing the sails put on is priceless. Yaba is a beautiful ship
