I actually like the L-shot more than the Z-shot, primarily because it's almost unthinkable to even be considered an option to begin with. Like who would have thought that hitting the cue ball straight up will make the cue ball roll straight to the left almost 90 degrees? It sounds ridiculous to even think about. Both shots are amazing, but they differ in HOW they amazed the audience. On the Z-shot, the audience were loud. The shot was well within their expected options. The cheers from the audience is them congratulating Efren in pulling off such a difficult shot. For the L-shot however, the cheers sounded like they they were gasping, in shock, trying process what just happened. When I tried to do the L-shot and Z-shot myself in practice, I was surprised how much easier the L-shot is compared to the Z-shot. It took me less than 10 tries to replicate the L-shot, but it took me 30+ tries to replicate the Z-shot. The Z-shot is easier to find, but harder to pull-off. The L-shot is almost unthinkable to even be considered a possible option, but easier to pull off. Both would garner amazement, but one will be loud and the other one will be in a form of shock, and I prefer the gasps more than the shouts.

netflix should film a documentary series of the goat elfren
  • I've played a lot of pool, and I've seen some amazing players, but Efren is the GOAT!!!
  • @ashokmahna8674
Great. When I was young, I saw his matches. He really was a genius & very artistic & elegant player. His game was used to be very smooth & pleasing to the eyes. My regards to this great man.

One of the best parts of the ā€œZ shot matchā€ was that Earl showed a rare moment of good sportsmanship.

I donā€™t play pool but Iā€™m just a fan of the Magician Efren Bata Reyes. Itā€™s fun to watch him play.
  • @jansantos9442
He still doing incredible shots until this day.. living legend
  • @pronoob1657
Well that's why they call him "the magician" it's not just because of his amazing shot's but also because of his intelligence and skill on the pool tablešŸ’ŖšŸ‘ proud Filipino herešŸ˜Š

#4 was something only Reyes could have come up with, nevermind pocketing it. A 4-rail kick shot is as rare & difficult as you're gonna get - just imagine hitting all 4 sides of the table, skillfully avoiding all the other balls & then ultimately sinking the target ball. Mind-blowing.

I loved this. Don't know how I came upon it. But I love pool, grew up with it, played it in the military, played it at the VA, and played it to some town championships. And I watch this guy, and yeah. I could definitely compete here. In another 200 years.
  • while many still thinks most of Efren's difficult shots were out of luck, they were in fact deliberate. poverty drove him to learn pool and compete as early as 9yrs old when he saw the opportunity to earn money from betting on his game. for a kid who sleeps on top of the pool table in a billiard hall and watched a lot of diifficult shots, safety and trick shots, he has all the time to study it, understand and practice. he repeatedly try various shots until he master them. he also learn and played carome and 3 cusion billiars which enhanced his talents to master his craft. he mastered the spin, the english, the trajectory, the bounce from the rail including the corner and when the balls hit each other. the man applies physics, geometry, precision with talent, all his knowledge and experience in playing all three disciplines of billiards, good eyesight, mental toughness and conposure to make his shots. the man is absolutely genius and unparalleled. he could have been the first Filipino multiple gold medalist had they included pool event in the Olympics.
