"i wouldn't go with a prot warrior in a low level guild, it will unmask your bad raiders" thats ABSOLUTELY what you want, you need to get rid of the bad raiders so you can kill bosses.

Aoe thunderclap first then shockwave, it'll bring them closer to make it easier to keep the all in front, remember you cant block attacks from behind you, then rend, revenge should also be up because you didnt stun them straight away and then you can thunderclap again to spread rend as the stun wears off, the first thunderclap also increases your shockwave ;)

i disagree with a couple points. first, is the gearing for stamina. with the enchants and Ilvl scaling for stamina/str, and the fact that us prot warriors need to avoid damage more so then take it. the better stat priorities would be Mastery > Parry > Dodge >Stamina. having a big hp pool is great for when you do take damage, but our goal as a protection warrior is to take as little damage as we can and attempt to keep critical blocking as much as possible. parry and dodge are our full avoidance stats, and yes, parry is better then dodge for us because of parry haste. but when we look at blocking damage vs more stamina. most healers have mana issues early in the expansion, and since their healing scales off ilvl. it would be better to focus on reducing damage taken, vs having big hp pools. i do agree that you should aim for about 150k hp minimum for heroics but the reason is so that you don't get one shot by un-avoidable mechanics. as a warrior, being the most mobile tank. we have to do our damn-est to dance around avoidable damage as much as we can. as for spell reflect, there is a minor detail that i have not seen brought up. while spell reflect is up, but no spell has hit you. any 'in transit' spells will be reflected. these are spells casted from multiple sources as a completed cast, but do not have their damage directly applied until the 'transit time' is also completed. this is how using shockwave, gaining distance, and being able to spell reflect multiple spells at once can come into play. once a spell is completed, if its in transit, the damage is delayed. the spell check checks for reflection when the cast is completed. the buff of spell reflect is removed once damage is applied to the warrior, or when the first spell transit is completed. so the delay of spell cast completion until it connects with the warrior causes all spells completed in that time, to be reflected. you should test this if you don't understand by bringing 2 warlocks to a arena. have them cast shadowbolt while spell reflect is up. if both bolts are in transit and you have not been hit, both will get reflected. however if they use no transit spells, like searing pain. it will only reflect 1 spell. anyways, your forgetting some 'dumb' defensives that are generally ignored. disarm, safeguard-intervene, stun-locking stun-able targets, heroic leap kiting, glyphed-intimidating shout. and talented heroic throw silence. also, if you do get the killing blow on some npc's in a fight, they can trigger victory rush, which can let us self heal a little more then just enraged regeneration. not all boss fights have mobs that can trigger victory rush, but warriors should be aware when it does randomly trigger, to use it as a short window self heal if their hp is low.

add shield block and spell reflection to your shield slam macro. they will cast automatically. you won't ever have to worry about casting them. also, pick up piercing howl. you will fall in love with it. it has NO COOLDOWN. rend, thunderclap, shockwave, demo shout, shield slam macro, revenge/devastate, then repeat minus the rend. it's very simple. warriors OP, but seriously PICK UP PIERCING HOWL. it makes hamstring seem like the most useless redundant skill in the entire game. i also recommend not taking any of the damage nodes from arms/fury. just be a tank, you do 500% threat, no one will take aggro from you.
  • Nice guide but I don't understand the gems: If Stamina is worth more than Mastery, why are yellow gem sockets gemmed with pure Mastery and not with green Mastery / Stamina gems? Or in the case that Mastery gems are better: why aren't blue sockets gemmed with green Mastery / Stamina gems?
  • @Muffnman007
0 bosses have abilities that can spell reflect

  • open with sock wave = rage start off the bat. i prefer to target a caster in the mob rend clap then run through then jump turn so the melee chase you and bunch up tight then shock wave

Watched your raid stream. Looks like from your group that rogue, war and dk are top dpsers unless the 4 mages you had really suck lol
