    Southern: "OHLE" Standard: "0wEeYoLe"
  • Don't lose your accents, people. They're part of who you are

As a Southerner I feel his pain!😂 He did a good job. 👍

Without his accent, he sounds like he just learned how to speak English.

I laughed harder that THEE instead of THE. Kudos to both of them on their sense of humor 😂
  • I like how he stopped himself and thinks about his whole existence before pronouncing "oil".

Standard American is an accent too, everything is an accent, it's just about which one you learn. Personally I think everyone should keep their accents, it makes language so much more fun and expressive

What a great sport! Love that he can laugh freely at himself and not be defensive. His wife is pretty cool, too - playful and not too harsh.

I like how he had to deform his whole face just to say oil without a Southern accent

    “I caint” “it’s cant” “That’s what I SAYED”
  • I grew up in a town in the US where nobody had much of an accent. Just the typical American accent. My parents were immigrants and spoke with a thick Indian accent. Somehow when I started speaking in proper sentences, I spoke with a pure Southern accent. One that would make any Texan proud. My parents were freaked all the way out because they had no clue who the hell I could've gotten it from. Turns out, I idolized Foghorn Leghorn too much for my own good.
  • I love how no matter how smooth he tries to be in saying that sentence, "oil" is the bump in the road for him every time. I have a buddy that is the same, and will pronounce "flower" as "flyer." I pick on him about it, but it's fun to hear his accent.

The dog: licks oil Everyone: "funniest shit i've ever seen"

Props to him, most people aren't aware of their own accent enough to be able to consciously overcome it like that.

Love the southern accent! Don’t lose it! It’s like music!
