Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I was 7 under after 10 holes on a course I had never played before. It was the round of my life. Then I hit the pirate ship on 11 and my score tanked from there.

You need to do a ‘top gear’ styled series. Tour golfers playing ‘reasonably priced’ course. See who can go the lowest all playing the Worsley Park! Would be an epic series!! Get a score board going
  • Loved that Sam responds with thank you every time he is praised. Says a lot about his character. Really jumped out at me as watching.
  • New to golf and never really watched pro golf. Ive never heard of Sam, but he seems like a cool and humble dude. Always willing to joke around and keep it light-hearted, a true professional. Gained a fan today.
  • Sam: shoots 67 - “Man I played like crap today” Me: shoots 85 - “I am a God among these mere mortals”

I aim for 65 as well when I'm standing on the first tee. Last time I got 55 on the front 9, best achievement ever

"It's been a few days since he's hit a ball, and no warmup." Ah yes! The REAL weekend-warrior public course test! Lol. Seriously though my local course is 9 holes, no driving range. For league, you basically get off work, go straight to the course, "warming up" consists of half-assedly stretching and swinging a club around while you have a few sips of your first beer while you're waiting for your turn on the first tee. It's real blue-collar stuff lol.

(6 handicap here) This is literally the most educational golf video I've seen in a long time. This teaches a lot about what it takes to be a good player. I really enjoyed seeing the difference in shot set-up habits between his level of play and a regular player. Just curious how good his putting would be if he was on his 4th day of playing the same course and was familiar with the greens. (pro tournament style) Thank you so much for this and please try to get more videos in this style.

What a good sport Sam is. In miserable cold and wet conditions, no complaints, no excuses, just a smile and great play. Inspirational stuff for us below average golfers. 👍😀
  • This is what we have all wanted to see. Well done Sam for putting yourself out there and showing some real class. Love Sam's swing and attitude
  • @OjisMagee
What impressed me most is that he didn't lose a single ball or take a single penalty on a course he'd never played before. That alone separates the men from the boys
  • @MattyzBeatz
I grew up and played with him in a junior golf tournament in Florida and man he was prodigy back then shooting 5 under at USF the Claw course. Just straight up beat everyone. It was a sight to see.
  • @JustDevon
Seeing a tour pro playing in person makes you appreciate how good they really are
  • @Lozzie74
Thanks for showing the tracer shots. I’m seeing this more in golf coverage now. It makes it so much more enjoyable to see the shot forming in the air rather than just waiting for the landing.
  • @johndavis2653
how good is he, just amazing, and so so easy to listen to as well. A very humble man and it is also a credit to you to have quality golfers giving their time to be on your channel
  • Really enjoyed this video as I have often wondered how a pro would perform on my local course. Rick you hosted this perfectly. Complements to Sam as he demonstrated that professionalism in golf isn't just being able to hit it long, but in maintaining a courteous, calm, and positive demeanor. I think he also had the foresight to play casually, and not hyper focused to mirror how most amateur's play.

I caddied on the American PGA tour in the early 90s. One of the players I was working for went and played a round with me a regular public course one day. He shot 61! He was just a guy who struggled to keep his tour card, not a guy who was winning on tour.
  • @cabby01
Ricks smile after Sam drops the birdie putt on the first hole is classic.

Sam is a class act with a terrific attitude. Didn't have his A game but always positive, and focused when it matters. Hope it makes it big.
