The community for this game is just absolutely, wonderfully crazy. A game, that's not an rpg, promotes roleplaying. Fantastic.

"I was there in the attack on Malevon Creek. I turned countless machines into scrap metal. Pursued by one of their search parties, I fled into the jungle. I made my last stand around a small pond. After I was finished, all the ammunition was used up and the water in the pond now consisted mainly of oil... I stood in the middle of the pond overflowing with machine splinters and... Automatons blood and adrenaline that was fading away. When one of their troops came... I had no ammunition left and my armor wouldn't have survived another shot. I closed my eyes and wanted to accept my fate, I fulfilled Superearth's mission and thought that I was finally able to live in peace in a death of freedom, knowing that I was giving my life for democracy and the good of humanity. But the enemy didn't shoot. His red eyes scanned in terror at the metallic massacre I had caused. His hands began to glitch, not wanting to hold his weapon anymore. As if the fact that holding a weapon like me made him look too much like me. It fled in a hurry and it is difficult to read emotions in a machine and yet at the sight of it I was filled with disgust, fear and sadness. We are monsters to them, I believe..." This soldier report is hereby pulled from the archives, the Ministry of Truth would like to inform you that the soldier here suffered permanent brain damage from the cruel weapons of our socialist enemies. Our doctors did what they could to save him but unfortunately he died in our otherwise "98% successful health clinics, trust us with your money for your health in Superearth's best and only private health care company". And continue the fight for martyrs like him. Together we will heroically force democracy to the farthest corner of the galaxy.

Of course we’re the good guys. I say we’re the good guys so therefore we are.

There’s a reason Helldivers are thawed out from pods. Fun fact, that should be noted. Once a helldiver has completed their training, they are put on ice in cryo until they are needed to be deployed. That means once a Helldiver is thawed out, all they are given are their immediate orders without context or reason. Couple that with loyalty conditioning prior to being frozen, you can imagine there would be little room whatsoever to question orders or even consider anything other than what you’re being told right after waking up. That being said, the only good bug is a dead bug. Humanity first.

“Yes sir, that man over there.” Real talk, thanks for making this video! It’s a really fun and well researched of the Helldiver lore. I am glad someone made this!

You lost me when you said “I’m a treasonous freedom hater”

This robot sympathyzer democracy officer, this one right here.
  • Theirs actually a unique subset of Helldivers known as Rangers who are specifically trained in Reconnaissance and ASSASSINATION. These Rangers practice the same Spec Ops training as the original 50 Helldivers from before the unification of Super Earth. And what was the first operation the original 50 Helldivers conducted? The conquest and dismantlement of the Socialist Government of Northman's Creek.
  • "All their limbs are intact" he says, showing an image of a guy with his arm ripped off.

Yes, this man right here democracy officer, he was trying to un-brainwash my democratic mind
  • @Goombateam6
But what about the bug attacks on the universal trade centrer?
  • Dropping the bit for a second, if I had my dream scinario for a later phase of the game, the humans would be put on the back foot, super earth gets desperate, and overrides every current players mission objective and command them to start killing civilians. The goal being to make super earth seem desperate and having the helldivers do jobs that their super elite forces would usually do. The players choice here changing the threat posed. A lot of players refusing to shoot the civilians creating a larger rebel group. Have it be a big media literacy test for the community and give the opportunity to add a new front to the war.

Us being the "bad guys" is a fresh change from what all other games do. That's why this game took the market over so quickly.

Fun fact the surviving cyborgs after helldivers 1 found out how to transfer there minds to robots and now are robots that do follow a central computer but still have felling like fear and anger based of my research, yeah so the cyborgs are the automatons
