  • Hard to believe today is the last day! So many memories with this railroad! Hope y’all enjoy this! As I’m typing this I’m trackside along my home rails for one final outing with KCS. You’ll see the video of my final day next week. (And yes I moved the release a day up because why not!)
  • Even though I live in the north east and don't see much KCS power, it's very sad to see such a great railroad go out like this.

I was the last one to get a KCS locomotive before the CP-KCS merger on April 14, 2023. Can't wait for the merger to begin!
  • Today truly does mark an end of an era for railroading, the KCS will definitely be missed but not forgotten amongst many railfans.

Now this is good I will miss KCS I never lived by their tracks but I was always fascinated by them. It will be cool to see CPKC in it's early days!
  • @amandas3752
We will miss this great railroad. Such colorful engines. KCS will officially go down in railroad history!

Just when I think you can't top yourself, you prove me wrong. R.I.P. KCS.

KCS WAS my favorite of the remaining Class ones. So, this video is very much appreciated.

Goodbye KCS. You were an awesome railroad!

My dad was both a brakeman & switchmsn for Kansas City Southern railroad for 32 years! He developed cancer and was forced into a "early retirement".. He'd been quit smoking many years earlier but the building he'd run out of for his entire career, was insulated with asbestos (Airline Hwy in Metairie, LA) and KCS registhad plans to get rid if soon. I don't know if they did or not but when my dad died, they (KCS ®) immediately cut off his "retirement" checks and didn't even give him one for the month he almost lived through. That felt a little dirty and was 100% arbitrary on their part. 🤔 I'm so thankful for a channel like this that brings awareness to and shows such deep appreciation for, railroads! 😁🏆
  • This is a magnificent compilation of footage and history here, Thank You for showing this, God Bless You. 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💨
  • I've traveled the world and been on quite a few different trains. I ended up in MS for some years and saw alot of KCS at the Gulfport yard up to Hattiesburg and would see trains crossing the CSX/KCS diamond at the coast. I have definitely lived the KCS experience.
  • Awesome Bishop Awesome Bro It's sad to see the Kansas City Southern ending it's 141 years of it's legacy me and Anthony had saw Kansas City Southern locomotives in Southwest Virginia years ago and it's honor and legacy roamed the rails with NS hauling from the coalfields of Appalachia in the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia The Kansas City Southern will always be remembering the legends of the rails of railroading legends Kansas City Southern, thank you for your service to remember you are the only railroad to keep America riding on the tracks to all the customers that you serve the railroad of 141 years and now the end of here and we thank you for your service We Salute you, KCS God Bless
  • @SilverThunder710
As much as I'm gonna miss these two railroads, I'm extremely excited to see what CPKC does.
  • Well damn. I live in Shreveport and I never knew KCS was going out like this. That’s too bad. Such an icon.
  • I work right next to Knoche Yard in KC as a locomotive mechanic. Took my wife to go see Knoche before it changes forever.
  • Amazing footage. This video is a great way to say "gone, but never forgotten." Thanks so much for putting all of your time and incredible effort into this farewell. Looking forward to your first CPKC video! Andrew
  • 29 years ago...Jan. 1, 1994...the KCS bought out my favorite road, the Midsouth. I went all over Louisiana and Mississippi to get as many pictures of Midsouth power as I could before all of their engines were sold off or scrapped. If Youtube and the internet were around then, I would have made some videos about that buy out. But instead I have albums of photos of the past. This video, as long as the internet and Youtube survive, will be around for generations showing what these "good ol' days" were all about. We will watch this in the future and "remember when..." Thank you for your hard work these last several years for helping preserve tomorrow's past. This video is finely crafted, and is worthy of all accolades it receives. Thank you Bishop!
