My sister and I are identical twins and we can’t eat the same plant foods. Our digestive system is so different! This is so true! We have just been finding this out!

There was that study Dr Greger covered when they replaced olive oil with walnuts in a Mediterranean Diet, there were 25% fewer strokes in the walnut group.

Zoe is basically a way to get people to eat more plant based, and yes it's slightly personalized beyond that. But if you're already eating WFPB, I don't think you are likely to need Zoe. However, that is roughly what dr. B started out saying.
  • I do have a big issue with Zoe and I just don't understand. They promote meat, Dairy, eggs Etc. Dr B helped to change my life by improving my gut microbiome, I was really sick. Now he's promoting Zoe but saying he's promoting plant-based! I really don't understand and I would like to. Can you help?

😂 I think that was the best DrB intro so far 😂 Chuck you excelled on this one.

I will also add that I went plant based for years without losing weight until I lowered my fats. I honestly didn't expect the weight to suddenly come off because I am eating the same meals just lowering the fat and I had been so frustrated for years and now I have lost 30 pounds in 3 months just getting rid of the fats. I guess that is why it needs to be individualized, some people do great on potatoes and low fat, some people do great on beans and greens and nuts as fat, some people can do olive oil and be okay. I couldn't lose weight even though I had dropped dairy and junk food and pizza, etc.

I will add that, if you found my comments from years ago, it was that I tried each different style of eating in the Plant Based and failed at them all and didn't lose weight. I got blood sugar spikes on potatoes and also just never felt full eating that way. I couldn't lose an ounce on Eat To Live probably because I ate too much fat. I had to smash McDougall and Furhman and Esselstyn together or something like that. But it genuinely is working now and I don't fully understand it still why I could change every single food I was eating back then and add in fruit and vegetables which should have changed calorie density but it made zero difference, even taking out soda and eating no sweets and no fried foods and no dairy. I needed to go very low fat and I am thinking that I might be able to eat potatoes someday, I just haven't tried because I still have a lot of weight to lose. But because I have posted the "It doesn't work" type sentences here in years past, now I will do it does work, but you might need to individualize things and tweak things.

Also, there was the endothelials getting messed up by even one serving of oil. I say it because Dr. Esselstyne and the rest of the doctors are using different measures for what is healthier or less healthy with oil. Not to cause an increase in fighting.
  • I love how whenever Dr B is around - it's always a live show. I might miss out on being there - but if I could - I'd always join if Dr B is around! Nay - I'll join any live show PCRM puts on if I had all the time in the world lol

I love the energy between you two; every facial expression exchange and compliment you make to each other reminds me fondly of many episodes of The Office. 😂 You guys are great! 😊
  • @czperso4544
Lots of self promotion in this episode…. 🤨
  • I would go crazy wearing that weighted vest walking . I do rubber band stretches and have a rowing machine that is fun . I like walk w less bulk but it sounds good for those that will use it . Great presentation

Recently diagnosed with kidney issue. Age 76 female. Continuing high blood pressure we are working to control. Learning about renal diet. Any advice, Dr B?
  • Interesting approach to olive oil; there can indeed be much worse sources of fat from meat/chicken/fish to oils like sunfliwer, so welcome ( a bit of) olive oil :)...indeed only a big topic within the plant-based world; lets dont scare others with these 'details'... Love the episodes related to the gut microbiome the most; and this combo with the two of you makes it extra; not only much informative but also fun and apeling. Congrats for the paper on Nature; that is what makes this chenel unique- all science based...published in high impact journals. A pleasure to be part of this crew...cheers from The Netherlands!
  • Appreciate the video. The trouble with topic is that studies are based on averages RCT. I appauld the attempts. Individualize nutrition is empowering to the client/patient because we bring to the table history, family, lifestyle etc. And not just dependent on the clinicians expertise, readings and drugs.

In the randomized tests that Dr. B. mentioned, what did the low fat diet actually consist of?
