You missed a visit to Young's Jersey Dairy. Great ice cream and lots of activities there for all ages. As a retired AF aviation maintainer, the AF museum is great. It's free and a great way to pass a rainy day. I have two aircraft in there that I worked on and a few friends that work there restoring the A/C that come in.

The AF Museum is a go to spot the family and we still learn something new every time.

I was born in Dayton, Ohio, Aug. 4, 1944. My Dad was training at Wright-Patterson AFB to be a carrier flight maintenance engineer while my pregnant Mom was the driver for military brass. My Dad left for the Japan Sea (WWII) the day after my birth and was gone for 13 months. When I was 3 months old I went with my Mom to San Francisco to stay with my Grandma until my Dad's return which he did after his ship was damaged by a Kamikaze and Japan surrendered. I was 50 years old when I went back to Dayton and we also spent a day going through the air museum. We couldn't go through AF1 then, so it was nice to see that you could now. Good memories of that trip. All three of our kids were getting married in various states (one week apart) so we were on the road for a month. Nice video. Thanks for the memories!

Oh wow!! From Ohio. Who knew you are here or was here!!! We have been to this museum!! It is absolutely beautiful!!!!!
  • So funny we just literally left Ohio yesterday. Campground choices were slim and we settled upon American wilderness campground . No sewer, tons of potholes, muddy and terrible when it rained (which was everyday) no dog park, beach wasn’t dog friendly, WiFi was non existent and cellphone service was so spotty. We spent 14 nights there because we paid in advance and I was literally counting down the days till we left!

Noticed your AR sticker is missing May i recommend try Crater of diamonds state park in Arkansas where the diamonds you find you get to keep. Just get a camp site on the higher ground lvl, cause we only had one bar of cell service for our hot spot at the time.

@4:00 You've never had a last-minute "everything drops into place" experience. I'm of the belief that "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous". When everything falls into place at the exact time I need it to I don't thank my lucky stars, I thank my living God. Glad everything worked out for you.

Camp Cedar is a beautiful campground! We stayed there their opening year (we were patiently waiting for it to open). The late afternoon thunderstorms were awful, however. One actually put the final nail in the coffin for our poor pop up. But the campground is close enough for day trips to Kings Island, the Airforce Museum, the Newport Aquarium, and more. Glad you got a chance to stay there, and it was fun to see it again on your video.
  • Oh my.. your in my hometown of 53years! Greaters choc chip rocks!! And your eating larosas pizza oh how I miss there pizza .. we moved to Georgia to be near grandkids last year but some of those simple things are missed

I felt that balcony goodness. I love Ohio! I'm in MI and go there a lot. I was in Toledo this morning! It's a fun state. Hocking Hills is gorgeous.

we live about 20 minutes from the air force museum. I wish I knew you were in town, we watch all your videos and would love to meet you. The next time you make it to the buckeye state let me know, dinner will be on us! safe travels and God Bless!

I grew up outside an AFB in NM in the 60’s, so we had B52’s and various fighters flying around all the time. The fighters would often break the sound barrier and rattle every window in town. It was pretty cool, and thanks for the memories!

Loved the intro music. I have got to go see this museum!
  • @TheHighwayHare
My daughter went to the Museum of the air force several years ago and loved it. So much history! I hope to go there one day.

Great episode and most importantly a beautiful sentiment when describing those that have fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. Looking forward to your EAA experience! It was also funny with the Ice cream, Lori walked by and said hey that’s Bill !
  • @SoPatch33
Best ice cream is Young's Jersey Dairy, Springfield/Yellow Springs Ohio.
