The Neimoidian species are one of the most important in all of Star Wars history. See how they rose to power from diseased grubs to become a Galactic Superpower that rivaled the Republic and would be one of the most powerful organizations in the CIS, with the Trade Federation, that would come to change the course of galactic history.

  • “The Neimoidians were the only species with an organ dedicated to worrying.” Idk, it sounds like they’re just describing a brain.
  • I really enjoy that the dub team just gave the Nimoidians the accent of whatever nationality a speaker of that language was most likely to dislike.

The battle droid thing is kind of interesting, and highlights some of the problems with aliens in science fiction. If the droids were designed to look like dead Neimoidians, then an army of battle droids would look like an army of terminator robots to other Neimoidians, which would inspire fear the way you'd want in an army that's not really designed to destroy but to capture and enslave the enemy. But to anyone who isn't a Neimoidian, they're just a bunch of dorky-looking robots with bad firing accuracy.

Imagine being the most hated species in a galaxy of 20 million species
  • I must admit I lol'd at the germans dubbing them with french accents!

I legitimately feel bad for not just Neimoidians, but all of the other alien species that received a lot of unwarranted hatred and scrutiny after the Clone Wars. Sidious had no problem pointing towards them and proclaiming "These guys are the source of all the suffering you had to endure" to a galaxy full of people that believed his words.

I always thought the Neimoidians were a great design. The prosthetics are great, I’m glad they weren’t CGI.

Nemoidians always trying to Nemoid me out of my Credits.
  • @MetaNerdzLore
What do you think of them? Obviously not all Neimoidians get the blame, but from their grub eugenics, evil business practices, mercenary funded genocides, hated for democracy and addiction to back-stabbing, not to mention the virus shedding all over the galaxy, there are a lot of reasons the Neimoidians faced a ton of negative stereotypes.
  • I once had an original Star Wars story in the works that featured a Neimoidian character. It was set after the Clone Wars, and said character actually befriended an ex-clone and turned bounty hunters together trying to survive in a galaxy that wanted them dead, along with searching for the Neimoidian's lost daughter. The two learned to overcome their biases against each other and formed a bond that lasted years. I kinda miss writing about them :') Edit: WOW I really didn't expect that much replies, thank you everyone! Their story was actually part of a wider story featuring a young Force-sensitive girl trying to learn about the Force and the Jedi without having a master, and the Neimoidian and Clone were part of her crew, alongside a Pantoran smuggler and later a rogue ex-Purge Trooper. I wanted to make a comic but it's a lot of work, so I don't know if it will ever see the light, but the reception definitely gives me the motivation to carry on.
  • I know this is in universe but for me I grew up with the prequels and the Neimodians were a huge part throughout it all. They will always be my favorite species since they always make me think of the prequel era which I grew up with
  • 15:05 "Palpatine sailed to Neimoidia, followed by 12 legions and started killing every single Neimoidian he found"
  • @happymonkeyfish
I loved in phantom menace when the neimoidians got in the ship and said "its moidin' time"
  • @FastTquick
Even though Neimoidians may be guilty of a lot of things, they didn’t deserve to have their species genocided by the end of the Clone Wars. Praise to the Neimoidian chads who were willing to reembrace their old Duros customs.
  • Not Star Wars realted at all, but this video has a special place in my heart, since it was the first video I watched while holding my newborn daughter in the days in the hospital after she was born. Just popped up on my feed again, and it just brought up the memory ❤❤❤ Thanks for making these videos, it really meant a lot in those early days of parenting.
  • @TrepidDestiny
Unrelated to the topic, It's fair to dunk on Episode 1 for bad story, but that cinematography was on point. Visually it was a beautiful movie.
  • @Neo3602
Did they ever think of you know now inflicting generational trauma on their children? I think that could have helped.
