My wife and I purchased a 2018 Camry New in October of 2017. I can say that the transmission doesn't "search for gears". Actually it's been pretty seamless, reliable car and with the direct Injection 4 cylinder engine is pretty quick and gets great fuel mileage. On a recent trip to Florida from Indiana it averaged 40 mpg running 65-70 mph both ways.

Moral of the story? If it's not a 94 Celica, don't buy it.

Lifetime transmission fluid IS good for the lifetime of the car. Because once the transmission goes, your car's lifetime is over!

This is literally my vehicle on here!!! This is the third time as well! I dropped it off Monday at 8am and picked it up at 11am! I've been using Scotty the last 4 years and y'all, how he is in the vids is how he is in person! The other two times were 2.5 to 3 years ago when I had issues with a 2008 Altima, and, Scotty recommended a new Camry and other stuff. He is for real.

Well crap! Just got back from the dealership with my new Camry.

I just bought a used 2018 Camry with 28,000. The 8-speed works great. Yes, it shifts up or down depending on the conditions but it isn't doing any "hunting." It could be dependent on driving styles, though. If someone is on/off the gas constantly for no reason, they may feel the car is trying to find a gear. But I'm more of a smooth "Pedal down to go faster, pedal up to slow down" guy. I think passengers appreciate this style of driver.
