18:46 Jonathan very nearly says "Americans" instead of "AR-15 enthusiasts." That's hilarious.

I love how he explains that canting the m16 might introduce brains into the ejection port and comes around to realise that the blood over the optical sight would make canting necessary. Truly a gun gaming nerd hybrid.

"if you were trying to deliver slugs at 50 metres or more" BF3 flashbacks of being called a hacker and getting kicked from servers I miss you old friend, those were good times.
  • @ChickenTeller
I'm surprised that he only noticed the slide magically locking back on the Beretta. One of my biggest gripes with B4B is that all of the weapons have only one reload animation, regardless of whether or not they are empty.

"With practice, you can whack your shots out a lot quicker." - suggestive stroking action Oh my.
  • You can't stave off the inevitable Jon. You're gonna have to review the cursed COD: Vanguard guns eventually...
  • @austinadams4203
13:19 every gun in the game acts as if it’s empty when you reload, regardless of how much ammo is left in the mag. Drives me nuts
  • Please have this man do COD Vanguard. He’ll have a heart attack when he sees those guns.

"at the end of the day you got a golden gun, that shots giant bullets. so why would you care if its practical" is what comes to mind everytime someone talks about the desert eagle
  • @ABlackWoman
I love it when he actually takes the mag out or checks the chamber. I know he cant always with how rare and old some are but I would like to see it more often.

I think the DEagle is so popular because its "beauty of purpose". What I mean is, this pistol looks exactly like to what it does. It's big hunk of metal spitting slightly smaller bits of lead down the range.

I love the moment where the logic of canting the gun clicks in for John. His technical knowlage is always a treat. His break down of the pistols were my favorite.
  • @gonnsolo8506
I'm pretty sure the "tilt" of the guns while crouched is something that they just grabbed from Titanfall, where most of the time you're "crouched" is when sliding and then it kinda makes more sense, then it got put into other games just as maybe a stylistic choice or as a way for your gun to tell you if you're crouched or standing.
  • @pcp2522
As an AK nerd I loved his breakdown of the reload with the locking lug. You cannot reload an AK the way the game shows it.
  • @khaldrakon
Something they messed up that wasn't shown is when you finish a magazine on the Barrett and reload, you pull the bolt back and can see there are still rounds in the mag, so they didn't model/animate an empty mag reload any differently from a partially used mag reload
  • 20:10 the handguard actually has the holes, its just hard to see outside of the reload animation
  • The thing about the AA-12 is that it has a recoil damping mechanism. Makes the thing quite heavy, but it's astonishingly effective. I've seen a video of a guy firing one one handed, and it barely moved. So when I saw it here, my immediate reaction was "that's way too much recoil". Which must seem so weird to those of you unfamiliar with the thing.

If gamespot brought on a few more experts that would be good for talking about games, gamespot could carve itself a niche. Experts in a subject talking reviewing stuff is pretty popular, and this series is already a unique one.
  • @hunteruk3967
Putting the comment on his presentation and commentary on the technical aspects aside (which is undoubtedly phenomenal), Jonathan's presence alone is so wholesome. The guy is such a joy to watch. His enthusiasm shows while he is talking and I love it. MORE JONATHAN PLEASE. Also despite all these positive words for him, I want him to react to Vanguard guns. :D
  • @Biggusdickus721
Something he missed was that the AA-12 is an open bolt firearm and utilizes constant recoil which lends itself to being very controllable despite full auto fire. In the game the gun is depicted as a close bolt firearm
