I get asked all the time which Great Buildings in Forge of Empires I think are the best. To answer that question, here is my tier list of Great Buildings entering into 2024. From the A.I. Core to the Voyager V1, we cover each Great Building and rank them all! Note that while I do try to back up my choices with the stats each Great Building has, certain ones may be more or less useful for you, depending on your strategies and how you play Forge of Empires. That said, Seed Vault forever!

Some notes: 1. If you haven't already, fill out my 2023 Forge of Empires Survey so we can find which events were your favorites, and which were the worst! Link: forms.gle/F9ZdH1dMZDwtciXt9 2. It seems that Great Buildings with support pool bonuses (Observatory, defense Great Buildings) will receive a new bonus when GvG is removed, however we do not have details on this yet. 3. Seed Vault forever!

3:30 Galata Tower: It might not be that strong, but the lols that you get when you see someone's plunder attempt having been repelled are awesome! Excellent entertainment value 😁

Finally someone sees the potential of the Seed Vault. Its criminal how underrated it is.

after watching your video i sold my Lighthouse of Alexandria and the Gala Tower. But i kept my Flying Island as it looks too beautiful to sell it. My playstyle is bit different. I look for efficiency but also for a good looking city. It makes normally no sense but it is just a game and i want to like it as i want. Your videos are very good. I love them. Greetings from Germany.

The only one I was suprised about was the Seed Vault

The only problem with eliminating the traz is it lets you pick the troops you want. Sure you can get a ton of troops with event buildings, but you wont necessarily get the one you fight with.
  • The Blue Galaxy is the best GB after the Arc, especially if you have an event building that produces other event buildings. Example: Sunhaven Palace giving you the Jesters Stage. I get a Finish Special Production almost every single day, so I can potentially double my Panda chain and then self-aid it and double it again, or I can produce Autumn Vineyards much quicker by hitting the Grape Fest two or three times a day and potentially doubling them all. It's outrageous how rapidly my FP/day and attack boost have skyrocketed since leveling the Blue Galaxy to 70. It should also be stated that leveling the 3 main attack buildings to 80 (as many older plays do) is not necessary anymore. If you level all three from 69 to 80, you are only getting a cumulative boost of 15%, which is not worth the FP spend.
  • How I felt about Uber's tierlist at the end of the video: "Here's the top 5 GB's you should build:" 1. Event buildings 2. Event buildings 3. Event buildings 4. Event buildings 5. The Ark

6:05 you mention that if we need supplies, there are better options that will be discussed later yet it never comes! Also on the same note, Himeji doesnt provide many goods? EXCUSE ME? its the best and my only power house for goods, without it Id be screwed long time ago and I dont think Im the only one... Also Rainforest should be in situational imho, because its a fast way to get plans for new GBs when new age comes up and when you build it people get crazy to give you points for the plans! And about Alcatraz, not sure if you noticed but its collection time is boosted (lowered) with guild level which I think is really important and mentionable point as event buildings take 24h to collect (yes you have a point with the extreme size and happiness not being needed but still!) and Zeus should probably be S tier, look at the size vs Aachen which provides the same boost (coins are nice but there arent so many or maybe Aachen in B tier? but I kinda see Aachen in A tier too, just not with Zeus)...

Full respect for the video editing, awesome. Needless to say the advice is exemplary and the advice awesome and helpful.
  • I'd argue that CF is worth it solely for the diamonds it provides every age. To the argument that Seed Vault is more reliable, I'd say I agree and so get them both. Any building that reliably (not you Himeji) produces high amounts of diamonds are must-haves as expansions cost a lot. Every time I age up, my CF provides me with thousands of diamonds, and that is alongside all the extra goods and other bonuses. Level it and forget it, let it provide passive income, skip the RQs if you prefer. In short, CF has provided me with more space than it takes up. Everything else seems spot on, great list!
  • One thing I like about the Rain Forest Project, aside from the beautiful design, is the fact that it is DIRT CHEAP to level.
  • HC is getting slept on. I have a high level one on a mini world and it gives so many rewards for the few battles I do. For a main world it’s boost is too short but for an account where you only spend 10-20 minutes per day, it is very worth it imo.

Thank you for the detailed analysis, this is very helpful
  • You just confirmed what I've been thinking about a lot of the GB's I have that I haven't bothered to upgrade in the past year so they are going cheers for the list 🙂

I would respectfully put St Mark's in the "situational" category. If you make heavy use of recurring quest looping, then St Mark's and CF go hand in hand. The coin boost allows you to get in more quests, which means more boosted rewards from CF. And when your coin production inevitably way outpaces your supply, you can convert the excess coin into FP. Yes, there are boosts from consumables and the tavern, but they don't compare with the 250% boost StM gives at level 10. And you can stack those boosts on top of it anyway. The debate over StM's utility is a hill I am willing to die on!

You should have 5 categories, namely D and E, instead of just a full D category. The Lighthouse and Truce (D) are not so terrible as the Habitat, Dresden , Gaea, Lotus , Delphi or Colloseum (E) which are total trash.

I agree with most of this, but I would say that the SMB and LoA are good to have for building up coins(SMB) and supplies(LoA), as you will need a ton of these when you get to the higher ages. So I would definitely put those in the higher tiers (B or C) rather than at the bottom. For example, my SMB provides 550% of the 892% total coin boost that I have, which is a sizable chunk, especially given I have a lot of special event buildings that provide coin bonus. My LoA provides 475% of the 762% of supply bonus in my city, which is also a sizable chunk. That, in addition to the goods that they provide, which in my case is AF goods, which are needed in our guild treasury at this point. I'm also not sure that the Seed Vault is as good as the author says it is. I don't have one, and the BPs are in short supply in our guild. Looking at the aid percentages, I suppose it might be worth it for the diamonds, once it is leveled high enough, but given that the BPs are in short supply I don't think I'll build one at this point at least. It looks like even at the higher levels, there is still only about a 10% chance of getting a reward when motivating/polishing successfully, and only about a 1% chance of getting diamonds from that. Also, as someone pointed out, with more people using mass self aid kits going forward, then chances of getting diamonds will become even slimmer.

-The lighthouse is good when a new city is going up through the space ages. Those 2.5G supplies is not easy to come by quickly. Level 1-3 is enough. It should be treated as a temporary boost, like using supply boost items. -Aachen is already obsolete. I had mine at level 80 and demolished it. It only provides attack boost. No fp. That makes its efficiency bad unless you don't value fp. -Alcatraz is still good for selecting units as you can get it to produce any unit in the game, even from lower ages. GVG is not gone yet, not even in beta. I think it is a good point though bringing up its tenuous future. It is definitely going obsolete. Maybe next year I'll destroy it. Event buildings also can't provide the immediate unit production that alcatraz can for new cities. -CC is not competing with the lab. Right now I am removing Olympic treasuries and I have a fairly old city. New plays will not have anything to compete for the space until some time after it has paid back its investment for them. Also fp is the best resource. When you can already fight GE5 and take 100+ attrition in battlegrounds what do you need more combat boost for? I value 10 points of red combat boost as only 1 fp. It's the same situation as the chateau. If you are not investing the time daily it is not useful and I rarely reach full attrition nowadays. -Truce tower is the only way of getting titan goods in lower ages. Titan goods are very expensive and you cannot beg your guild mates for them like you can with every other good. -You should see the rush on Swedish servers for the seed vault. When titan released suddenly everyone was building it. Me too. -I did the math on himeji castle and it beats every event building in the game with the evaluation of 1fp = 10 red attack or defense = 20 blue attack or defense = 5 titan goods = 0.25 diamonds. Only things better are some special event buildings or small buildings produced by event buildings. -Virgo project is substantially worse than Kraken. Kraken can easily tip the balance in GE and it helps you take fights faster in BG due to less unit switching.

Great video ! SV forever !!! I'm a huge advocate for SV and glad to see you have it S tier. It depends upon what your goals are and what stage (age and/or GB level) of the game you're in. For a more developed player I think your list is good. For lower developed city I would rank HC higher for it's inordinately high production of supplies. Combine the supply production and other rewards from fighting and it moves higher. Also, aging up takes a lot of supplies and coins. Having a large multiplier of these is useful. So, I think SMB + LoA/RAH is more important (LoA is more space efficient but RAH has more times/day...LoA is best, imo) Your game goals also make the tier rankings different. Many players want to increase their player ranking and hence should focus on city ranking points. Almost every top player on every server has all the guild goods GBs. Guild goods production is the best passive way to raise your ranking (the best active way is to age up and fight a lot). A focus on increasing your ranking would increase the value of fighting GBs and guild goods producing GBs. (Note: you get ranking points from fighting (battle points/50) + building points + points for goods spent {collecting guild goods counts as spending goods}) Traz is still S tier for me. Even with all the unit producing special buildings, the Traz produces the bulk of my army. I agree attrition is not the same as losing units...as you get close to your max attrition in GbG you're losing too many troops. But, you want your limitation to be attrition not troop production. That way when your guild really needs you, you can push that attrition a little higher. Additionally, GvG will be replaced by Guild Raids. I think it's reasonable to assume there will be fighting involved and you'll need troops to do so. So, there is fighting in GE, GBG, and the upcoming GR...you're going to need troops. If you try to make all these troops through special buildings you most likely stifle your other productions. The Traz is huge but it's still the only place to get that large number of troops. My biggest disagreement is in the C tier :P :) Virgo Project (VP) in C tier? and on the same tier as CC, HC and Kraken? Missile Launch doesn't work against players in your neighborhood or in the PvP arena. So, I guess it could be useful if you're at max attrition in GBG then you collect and use it to get a couple more fights in (caps at 70% and 5 attempts)? At least the other buildings are producing something every day. I don't know the level of your CC, but, unless it is low level I wouldn't replace it anytime soon. Also, you loose all those city ranking points when you remove it. Again, great video and SV forever !
