Best project story in the history of YouTube. Thanks Leo 😊

Zeal is one of the best craftsmen I have ever seen or heard of. Best of luck to him.

I don't think anyone who has been following this channel has missed the fact this is a very rare occurrence. Hearing from Zeal and Joe talk about the high standards and the excellence of everything that is being done is a confirmation. Leo has given all of us a very rare opportunity to see what is possible in this world filled with mediocrity. I haven't contributed a great deal but I feel a sense of pride in what has been accomplished. This is so rare in life. Thank you Leo and thanks to all the folks who volunteered along the way as well as the professionals who brought their skills to this project. And please take us along as the adventure continues. I'm here for the long haul and I'll keep supporting this channel so long as it continues.

Very few are fortunate enough to be a sufficiently competent sailor that they become Bosun to the largest three masted sailing yacht. Fewer still are also superb shipwrights. Even more rare is the ability to manage complex projects and build a happy team at the same time. But to cap it all, Leo is amongst the best storytellers on YouTube. It's been a fantastic seven years, and thank you for sharing it with us.

The extreme pleasure of deferred gratification, finally realized, in spades, in full view, after seven years. Episode 1 was 6/15/2017! Congratulations to Leo and crew.

If I could make one suggestion about the videos of tally Ho traveling, it would be nice to include a line on a map showing it's journey. A lot of ppl aren't going to recognize straits, ports, or other places simply by name as it goes along or understand the distances being traveled between them, a visual on a map would make that all intuitive though.

Not enough comments about Joe's work. The systems design might not be as glamorous on a wooden boat project but they have been done beautifully. So well organised, so well put together. Massive kudos to him.

Can't believe seeing Argonaut. We knew Julian Matson very well who had her for years Has a great Gardner engine in her. We bought the Brigantine Spirit of Chemainus which was in need of some love at Gabriola Island. Julian helped us with a 5LW Gardner that we had installed. He had lot's of spare Gardner parts aboard Argonaut. That boat was his life. He was a real character and sadly missed.

Haha. Zeal humbly failed to mention all his work fitting the rudder... some of the most difficult and highest-stakes craftsmanship imaginable.
-
"I've rebuilt that boat" man, that hits different🎉
-
Leo helped me recover from the breakdown I suffered on retirement by inspiring me to get up and start making things again.
-
Joe's attention to detail and willingness to go all the way is just a credit to his work ethic. A master of his craft. Just so good
-
Look how happy Leo is. His life's dream is becoming reality. Godspeed Leo!
-
The best part of this video is Leo's sheer joy at finally being at sea with his beloved boat and most excellent crew.
-
This boat is all about her people thanks to Leo's leadership and sharing ways. Simply wonderful spirit for any boat.

Upon the morn, 'neath skies so bright, The sailboat Tally-Ho took flight. Long hath she rested, 'pon the shore, Now she doth sail, her heart doth soar. With canvas spread and mast held high, She cleaves the waves, 'neath azure sky. Her timbers creak, yet strong they stand, As she embarks from yonder land. O’er briny deep, 'cross tempest’s roar, Tally-Ho sails, to seas once more. Her journey new, her spirit free, A vessel proud, 'pon boundless sea. Congratulations Sampson Boat Co team ♥

hahaha I liked the part where he hammered the dowel in the chainstopper but the fit is so tight it acts as a airdamper. That little groove fixed that though!
-
The quiet competence that Zeal displayed completing everything he was tasked with.

7 years ago this channel randomly appeared in my YT feed, very early on Leo had a volunteer who was wearing an Acorn to Arabella t-shirt, can't recall his name at the moment, but I looked up the channel and saw their 10k lb lead keel pour video and was instantly hooked to 2 boat building channels, both unique in so many ways, but equally compelling and interesting stories. Being a restoration carpenter for most of my adult life you have both taught me how to be a better carpenter, how to figure out complex problems with rather simple methods, priceless insights into pattern making, etc... thank you both for such a wonderful journey of discovery rebuilding and building classic wooden sailing vessels. Two of the most amazing channels I have been blessed to find on YT!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Oh, how I wish my father was here today. I showed him this project many years ago. He, being a wood worker fell in love with this project. Blessed journeys
