We sang this for our closing song in sacrament meeting yesterday in honor of a woman in our ward who passed away tragically. I love the phrase “I sing because I’m happy. I sing because I’m free.” It was the perfect way to describe her. She had the most beautiful voice and was always singing. She was always caring, always giving, and always looking out for others. She was a friend to everyone she met wherever she went and we’ll all miss her deeply. Love you always, Kerilyn.

I love that song. I'm so glad they are taking these beautiful old Gospel songs and put them in the new book. It should have been done many years ago.

He will heal us from it all…we just need to allow it!!

I will never understand God's course for my life but I will do my duty that he has crafted my hands with integrity. God bless America.

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Refrain: I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear, And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

How such perfection is billowed out for the world to hear such monumental praises to our God is astoundingly performed. 🇬🇧

Because this is one of our new hymns we sang it today in our sacrament meeting. I think I have a new favorite Hymn. The words touched my heart.

One of the newest additions to the LDS hymn book and I can hear why!

When I heard the choir sing this hymn at general conference I hoped that it might be a hint that this moving hymn might be added to the new hymn book.
