Yeah, this has kind of already been teased, but the name of episode 9 itself is "Collision", which means that the land Omega is probably preparing a strong invasion against Alpha and maybe we'll finally see some more direct conflict between the ENTIRE protocol against the legion, unlike the small teams sent into individual fights.
