  • A gun safe that LPL considers better than hiding the gun under your carpet is literally a museum-worthy device of legend.

"Better than most" is a glowing review compared to the other gun safes on the channel

Dear Lock Picking Lawyer: Thank you for reviewing this safe. I just got this for my son at college. He takes meds that are very attractive to steal. His feedback on the safe: (1) It is very heavy and the metal is not bendable with a fork. (2) There is an app that he downloaded to his phone that will alert if anyone is tampering with the box. (3) It has multiple ways to open (key/code) for backup. Finally & probably most important it cannot be opened with a fork which are widely available on college campuses. Thank you for reviewing this safe. It is an excellent addition for his college dorm. Best - One happy Mama

I can imagine the packaging on the next batch of safes by this company, with a big "Better Than Most, a very reasonable choice ~ The Lock Picking Lawyer" quote in the front to show how good it is
  • Properly built without cheap materials, backup lock is a 9 disc detainer, electronic lock is secure .... better than most is high praise indeed
  • @linksbro1
Honestly the lock box itself isn't the main reason I would recommend their stuff, more notable is hearing how promptly they responded to the fork fiasco with a fix that they even tried to get to existing customers, not just future customers.

Imagine when you open it it just goes: ”Have a very safe day, and thank you for choosing Vault-Tec”
  • @Deepwaterjew
I can respect a company that made a patch on their design flaw, then sent it out to the owners of the product. It actually seems like a fairly good product, being backed by a great company.

Props to Vaultek, quick on the response, take criticism. Most importantly, they value their products! This should be the RIGHT way of doing business!
  • Something tells me Vaultec staff had a moment of panic but are now breaking out the champagne. LPL praised them twice in one video, and said that their safe had won the highly coveted "very reasonable choice" designation. What an achievement.
  • LPL, my mother came from a travel, and she lost of of her baggage's key. It was a small lock and we were a little worried that we would need to break it. I asked for a Paperclip and a clamp, since i don't have picking tools. Used the paperclip as a pick and the clam as a tension wrench, took me around 10~11min, but i got my first pick and opened the lock ❤️ Thanks for the videos, i feel like it helped me a lot with the pins and all. My father said it was useless knowledge a while ago, but i kept watching, and it helped me!

They should make a firearm lockbox that sends a message to a designated phone if it's interacted with in any way. That way the owner could be notified even if they aren't at home.
  • A company responding to product criticism in a positive manner is an honorable company. Due to LPL's video and their response, I purchased two of their Lifepod products and love them. Win-win overall. The company receives more sales, LPL shows he's not out to get companies but just trying to improve the industry, and I have a safe vetted by the master himself. I spent a long while before buying gun safe because I was skeptical of many brand's security based on LPL's and other's videos, all showing how easy it is to get into them. With ensuring safety against adolescents being my #1 concern, a video like this is really reassuring to me.
  • @satorudo
The fact it beeps when you open with a key is actually kind of genius
  • @kablooey2369
Here at Vault-Tec, your safety is our number one priority.
  • @danielernst6816
You are the rare type of lawyer that is able to crack every case! Respect!
  • Props to Vaultek for responding correctly, rare these days. Thanks LPL for highlighting when a company takes the right steps.
  • @klchu
For those who say "LPL is just helping thieves" this is the counter example. Vaultek made their product better and hopefully people who buy this product are safer, as are their families.
  • @spudhead169
Vaultek CEO: I heard our new gun safe can be picked open in about a minute? Vaultek PR: Yeah, we're all celebrating, come on down and join us. Vaultek CEO: Why would you celebrate this? It's terrible news. Vaultek PR: It took a minute for the LockPickingLawyer to pick it open, with specialized tools. Vaultek CEO: OH! I'm on my way.

Seems like a good lock to me. Though my main concern for locks or codes I dont want my family or people I know to get into is them learning the code or swiping the key. As a cheeky little youth I recall breaking into these numpads all the time simply be either guessing the code (most people use the same codes so if you learn one you learn em all), watching for when the code gets punched in and then using it later, or even looking at marks on the numbers to see which are pressed and narrow it down from there through deduction. I did all 3 of these under the age of 10 (though not to a gun safe) so its something to keep in mind.
