I appreciate that you often show the set you are reviewing next to other sets. It's not something the other reviewers do often, but it really helps to get a sense of scale.

I would love to see another video of David fixing/upgrading this set. Kinda like he did with the AT-TE.

Man, I remember watching Solid Brix’s review on the 2013 Republic Gunship a lot back when I was in middle school, and was so desperate to get that Gunship until I finally got it from my parents on Christmas morning. Now 10 years later I’m still watching Solid Brix, and am looking forward to buying this Gunship soon. Crazy to think how much time has flown by.

I always wanted a gunship as a kid and I never got one, so I am in love with this to be honest. I will say the smaller size is sorta nice because it makes it easier to display.
  • @av5504
In total agreement. I’ll wait til the figs come up in the aftermarket. If you own the 2013 or 2008 gunship then you’ll understand his sentiment. Those sets were far superior to this and at the time were actually cheaper. I would’ve paid $40 more to have it scaled the same as the last two versions, have proper opening doors and printed ball turrets on the wings.

I actually think that the fact that the newer one is smaller makes it more accurate. In the clone wars you can see clones touching the ceiling of the inside of the gunship but in the 2013 one it's almost impossible for the Minifigures to touch the ceiling. Seams like a great set, I'm only upset for the studs shooters and the color, the Minifigures are ok imo. Great video as always btw

Being minifigure scale, and thus smaller, is a winner for me. I like the UCS for its accuracy, but the minifigures just look so small. That's the same for the other version to, but to a lesser extent. They were almost minifigure scale. I also like that it's unique. We don't get much republics sets that aren't grey. This will look good next to my police gunship.

I actually kinda like the size. I never got one of the previous iterations, but they all look super big compared to clones standing inside them. This one is a lot more accurate feeling. Fits better on a shelf too I'm happy for it and I'm excited to get it
  • I kind of can't believe they didn't put anything in the void in the front. That might even be as glaring an issue as the stud shooters
  • @222supergamer2
I'm happy with this set because it hopefully opens up the door to more clone wars sets, playscale or ucs.
  • While the 2013 is much larger, this set is more true to the scale of the gunship in movies IMO and i like it.
  • @ryanr2522
Nah the way the 2008 gunship came with a command station, speeder, ANDDD bacta tank that could all be stored in the gunship and not one unique feature for this gunship is actually wild
  • @dylanchicorel
Please David make a tutorial on how to improve this gunship. I feel like it can modified somehow to maybe get the proper double sliding doors and to replace the stupid stud shooters with a custom ball turret for the wings (like on Brick Vault's Republic Gunship). Plus, there appears to be a connection point for ball turrets or flood lights to be attached, which LEGO could have included and put in the empty hull space of the Gunship. Also, putting aside the inaccuracies with Fox's minifig, it is too bad that LEGO decided to not include Thorn in the set, who is accurate to the Clone Wars arc.

Right as a sit down to eat breakfast, I got this notification. Impeccable timing.
  • @Frostbyte501
I really hope they bring back the dropship soon
  • @jbiel3617
Coruscant is my favourite Star Wars planet so anything coruscant related is a win in my book
  • @mikagrof9243
I do have to say the new Scale does fit more with the AT-TE cause if you look at the Point Rain episode the Gunsips sit next to the AT-TEs and are actually shorter so the new scale is more accurate compared to the AT-TE
  • @Trollmaster925
Having two opening areas only to have nothing inside them is surprisingly my biggest issue with this set.
  • @meepmeep8035
Thank you for speaking on the lack of play functions, this is meant to be a play set and yet there's only really one...
  • The reason the space is so small in the new Gunship is because of the huge doors. It really needs to be modified into 2 separate parts. I'd like to see how it's built to see if it's possible. If it is possible, I'm definitely gonna buy one just for the figures and buy the parts to slowly modify it to look better.
