I initially planned to release this video in December, but after the passing of Dame Angela Lansbury last week, I knew now was the time to do it. So I bumped Aladdin to next week and released this one today instead. Wait did I just give away what my next video is gonna be? Oh well.

Cast In Order of Appearance:
Paige O'Hara as Belle
Richard White as Gaston
Liz Callaway as the Bimbettes
Jerry Orbach as Lumiere
David Ogden Stiers as Cogsworth
Robby Benson as the Beast
Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts
Bradley Pierce as Chip

  • This was so wonderful to watch. I got especially watching Jerry Orbach. Jerry was a good family friend.. he was our neighbor and he was so incredibly kind. I remember when I was 6, Shrek came out and my parents didn’t have time to take me to see it. I was really sad and Jerry said he had it on tape, since he had to review it for an awards ceremony, so he and his wife had me over just to see it and I was so happy. He was such a thoughtful, caring, and fun person. We eventually moved to another part of the city and Jerry passed a way a few years later.. The most heartwarming thing to see now is that they renamed the street where our apartment was, where he lived, “Jerry Orbach Way” ❤️

I didn't expect to literally burst into tears when Angela Lansbury started singing Beauty and the Beast! OMG. We are sooooo lucky to have grown up with her, Paige, Jerry, David, Robby and Richard! Thank You so much to all of them!

Okay... tell us we're not the only ones who bawled like babies... Cogsworth, Lumiere and Mrs. Potts....thank you all for the memeories🙏🏽🥰
  • Love Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers, Angela Lansbury. Three Legends. Rest in peace 🙏🏽 ❤🌹🕯🕰🫖
  • Fun fact: after being restored to his human form Lumiere went on to have a career as a highly-regarded police detective.
  • Everyone in the comments is talking about Angela Lansbury - I understand why, her passing was a sad day - but I broke into tears seeing footage of Howard Ashman with Paige O'Hara. He was the lyricist for this movie, "The Little Mermaid," and for some of the songs in "Aladdin." He never got to see "Beauty and the Beast" in its final form because he died at age 40 of AIDS months before the movie's release, but if not for him, this movie wouldn't be as amazing as it is. Mister Ashman left the world way too soon. Rest in Peace, Howard Ashman. Thank you for giving a mermaid her voice and a beast his soul.

All it took was hearing Angela Lansbury's voice and I couldn't stop crying. It was like hearing a voice from a long lost grandmother.
  • @AliSakurai
This is why the animated one will always reign supreme! The voice actors were more expressive than the live action actors!

Rest In Peace Angela you will always be our Mrs.Potts❤️
  • Oh my goodness Angela Landsbury singing live was absolutely beautiful! 😭 😭 👏🏻

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how drop dead gorgeous Paige O'Hara was (and still is). Just like her animated counterpart, Belle. A beauty playing a beauty, just like in true Disney Princess fashion. 🌹
  • If it wasn't possible for live-action Gaston to be equally as handsome as his animated counterpart, Richard White performing the song live just made that possible. Seriously it's like he was born to voice that character.
  • RIP Jerry Orbach RIP David Ogden Stiers RIP Dame Angela Lansbury RIP Rex Everhart RIP Mary Kay Bergman RIP Hal Smith RIP Howard Ashman RIP Tony Jay Tq 4 the memories....
  • Angela Lansbury was a great choice to speak for Mrs. Potts. It's a shame we lost her earlier this year.

Angela Lansbury is a wonderful woman of the highest class. Bedknobs and broomsticks was my favorite movie as a kid. Murder, she wrote is one of televisions best shows. Beauty and the Beast is a family classic for all times.

"Winter turns to spring. Famine turns to feast. Nature points the way. Nothing left to say. Beauty and the Beast." RIP Angela Lansbury
  • @mountveggie
Whoever was in charge of casting did a phenomenal job. From Paige O’Hara to Angela Lansbury, and literally everyone else - absolute perfection.
  • Funnily enough, the first time I saw Jerry Orbach was on an episode of Murder She Wrote. I loved him instantly as a beleaguered detective, and wasn't at all surprised when he became one of the most beloved characters on Law & Order. But then I love all three of the departed Beauty and the Beast actors, and remember them fondly for their television careers.

her "goodnight" at the end just broke my heart...
  • I didn’t expect to tear up while listening to Angela sing the title song 😭 This movie was my absolute favorite growing up, though I haven’t watched it in full in years 😄 Was surprised that I’d remembered enough to still sing along to most of the songs here 🥺😊♥️
