Some thoughts I've had on my favourite trio, and a few too many thoughts on my favourite character 😅. This is a completely unscripted discussion video with some light speculation. I'll be doing more videos likes this in the coming days, so hopefully you enjoyed it.

Yes! We need more Wayfinder Trio development. Look at the Sea Salt Trio, they have everything resolved by the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. But the Wayfinder Trio need to come to terms with their pasts... Ventus with his union past and his association with darkness, Aqua’s fear of darkness and her PTSD, and Terra’s guilt. They have a lot to resolve and I hope we can see more of them.
  • Terra lost his body, ventus lost his soul, and aqua got sent to the kingdom hearts version of hell.

I always felt like the biggest thing Agua about aqua that pushed her friends away in BBS was her lack of faith in her friends. She was the protective mama mom of the group, but that came with flaws. Eraqus and Aqua didn't completely trust Terra, so she was sent to check up on him. Terra, already have a sort of inferiority complex, was upset from this seeing that she doesn't completely trust in her abilities. Ven tries hard to prove to Aqua and Terra that he is just as good of a Keyblade wielder as them. Aqua keeps telling to go to his room and to go home and Ventus understandably took that as her not acknowledging his hard work. Terra, however does acknowledge his ability. When the light orbs went haywire during the exam, Aqua tells Ventus to go to his room while Terra, on the other hand, says that he'll be find since he trained just as hard as they did. Aqua's protective nature comes from a place of love, but it is not really helpful for characters who are going through arcs of trying to prove themselves. I like how this arc for her was resolved in KH3 with Aqua realizing she has to believe in Terra when he walks up to Xehanort at the end.

The Dark Wayfinder Trio: Complete Ventus Terranort Anti-Aqua

I know Sora is the main character but this video puts a good argument for Ventus. If anything, the main focus was always on the Wayfinder trio, even by the fandom itself.

“Aqua, aka the best character” I see you’re a man of culture.
  • @Mario-us5xm
You brought the entire trio possessed by darkness and sent them to the RoD, that's raw potential for one good game.
  • I believe aqua is the strongest KH character she went through so much. And then you have to think about it she spent a decade in dark world before fallIng to the darkness. I love her so much!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having the wayfinder trio as my favorite. That being said, my speculations go that it is not darkness that brings back Ventus's memories, but Lauriam. As Lauriam, to my knowledge, has now become a Somebody, he most likely has some memories remaining, and I do not think he is just going to leave Ventus be, if they should cross paths. Though, I will not deny that Darkness, may also play a part. In fact, a combination of these two factors is probably the most likely.

Holy shit this game grew up with the fans.. Paupo trio- Childish phase: Sora jealous of riku. Trying to beat him in a race. Fighting over kairi. Riku being jealous over sora (new friends goofy and donald) Seasalt trio- teenage phase: Roxas fighting for what he wants and desires despite the outcome of what will happen. Going in a emo phase with it. “No one will miss me.” (lol jk)Axel hiding the truth from his friends despite how its making them feel and doing it only to keep them safe but in a selfish manor. Xion knows they cant enjoy what they want forever then does the mature act. Wayfinder trio- adult phase: Ventus maybe childish to the down right core but he makes a grown up move by asking his friends to do the wisest decision and put him down. And he shattered his own heart to save his friends. Terra knows he has a hidden rage and learns rather than ignoring it accept that he isnt perfect and he will soon learn to move past his flaws. Aqua was always mature but she always questioned in the end like any other mature adult does today “Are we making the right decisions in life?” Kingdom hearts grew up with its fans

When your trying to break the record for how many times Xenahort and is counterparts say "darkness"
  • @ThatLucinaLady
I never thought much about all of them falling to darkness, I kinda just took it for what it was, but yeah that does make them quite different! I like how you pointed out how the way they went dark was related to their personal struggles too, and the Aqua and Ava comparison. And I don't think anyone could tell Aqua is your favorite at all! 😉
  • @dreamer9398
Ah yes, the mother, the father, and the child
  • I love this analysis. We can look at each trio as siblings with the BBS trio being the eldest. They had the worst sins of all which got passed on to future generations. They were the benchmark of what could happen. I wish they used them as plot devices during certain points in KH and KH2 instead of being forgotten about like Mickey did. I feel like their story is the saddest. Pupils who tried to do right, but failed at every attempt even using their teachers lessons.
  • 3:37 ... What is the moment where everything about Terra makes sense? If you don't say when he inquires Riku and thinks he is worthy because he wants strength to protect what matters or when he oppose Eraqus for Ventus sake, then you don't get Terra like NextGenNovelist here, Terra's desire for strength comes from the same place as Riku, it's his desire to protect Ventus, to protect Aqua, to protect that what matters the most to him, his family, which included Eraqus, which is why you see him initially trying to not attack Eraqus and when the fight is done he isn't happy or proud, he is down, especially when that fight leads to Xehanort killing him... It's why he loses control of his rage so easily on the Keyblade Graveyard he is in front of the killer of his Master and the one that damage and hurt his friend and he CAN'T keep it out.
  • @bribabie9854
I can’t wait to see what happens to the trio in the next KH game especially with all of their experiences.
  • @jasondavis2381
Ya know, when I look back at what Sora did for the other characters it's kinda boring that he has to be the one to help clean up everyone's heavy emotional baggages, make peace with their respective pasts and destroy their personal demons instead of letting them do those things on their own. It's like he's the whole franchises very own heart therapist, literally.

Great video. It is interesting that all three of them were possessed by darkness when they're basically the veterans in this compared to the other trios. I guess they had to be sidelined in order to explain why they weren't around, but its just funny all of them ended up dark at some point. Riku fell because he didn't have any guidance and was misled by Malificent, but those three had a lot more knowledge and had been trained by masters. Fair enough one master was aligned with darkness, but still. I think it's something that should definitely be reflected on during their time in the realm of darkness. And I'm also intrigued to see if it has any significance in the future, especially with Darkness' connection with Ven
  • @jacksonwww5
Technically Ventus was possessed by the personification of darkness that came from itself
