Today we're taking a break from all the public transit work, instead trying out some absolutely awesome new mods and custom assets and zoning types! We put all this to use by revamping the low-density residential neighborhood of Northside, transforming it into a more dense, hipster-rich area full of row-houses, shops, cafes, restaurants, and expensive coffee! Hope you enjoy!

Don't drain it entirely! Definitely do some land reclamation for parks and pedestrian areas, but leave some water for wetlands, small streams, and maybe an old unused canal!
  • @mypdf
I think a "S-Bahn" style commuter Rail would be very exiting, make a lot of sense for this city cluster and also be a interesting thing to build :D
  • @DomEverythingEZ
I’m telling you now if any of this stuff gets implemented in the game naturally with no bugs OMG THE OUTCOME OF THIS GAME WILL BE MONUMENTAL. I can’t wait until the game is loaded with more assets
  • @theorixlux2605
If you completely drain the river, you can build an open air metro that connects the north and south ends of the city.
  • @ch1cky_br1ky27
I love the new direction you’ve taken with Northside. Now that it’s a trendy, gentrified neighborhood blended with long-time residents, I believe good public transportation is essential. The newly widened main street is an excellent candidate for a tram line that would connect Northside with Downtown. The fact that the only hospital in the area is located near the main street further supports the need for this tram line. Additionally, neighborhood circulator buses could link the east and west sides of Northside with the tram and with each other.
  • I think you should keep the river but definitely make an attempt at raising the water levels. Maybe add a selection of pedestrian bridges and crossings to make it look more interconnected and some park spaces around that would look great!
  • @whatisthis6259
You literally were one of my favorite/first city skylines players
  • @sully_skylines
Welcome back from your holiday mate! haha what a time to go away, but glad to see you finally getting stuck into all the amazing new tools. The main intersection has so much character to it, with the mosiacs and custom zoning! also good to see you use Dome's parking lots! Thanks for featuring our mods and assets and look forward to seeing what you do in future with them 🙌

the problem with the costum river is that the water can bypass the dam with it and that the pointed islands and its shape are quite unrealistic, the whole river needs a little straightening and modification (e.g. put a dam at the end if the ends cannot be lead to the front of the dam) it would be good DO NOT DELETE IT! because it has become an iconic part of the city, my main problem with it is that the water cannot flow in it due to the unevenness of the bed, which in reality would not develop this way..

You shouldn't (IRL) plant fruit bearing trees in road median. Hickory nuts are big enough that if they fall on the windshield of a car doing 35 mph (56 kmh) or faster they would probably crack the glass causing an accident. They sure are pretty though. 😁Love the content, was glad to see someone who didn't just abandon the game. Some creators I watch went more than 2 months without posting CS2 content waiting for mods to come. So keep up the good work.
  • I think an absolutely amazing idea for along that little river would be to keep it but add a suburban rail service along the length of it and maybe do some terraforming and custom stations too it’s a perfect spot
  • @mygrandpapengu
If u are draining the river I suggest making a park on the river bed like the one in Valencia, Spain. There they also did the same and drained the river and they were choosing between a highway and a park but the residents of Valencia wanted a park so they built it.
  • @Mr_Sandcraft
Hei! Glad that you use my Local Hospital Asset!) Nice variant of upgrade!)
  • @how_tragic
I always love the music you use in your timelapses, it’s exactly my kind of genre so it’s great vibing out while watching you build😉
  • If its an American city, and you haven't named a street as Martin Luther King Blvd yet, then it would be very realistic to rename Briarwood to that.
  • @MFJOELPEDRUSCO
With the river drained you could do like in Valencia - Spain, where the river was drained to prevent flooding and it was transformed into a huge park that crosses the entire city.
  • @strossicro1
Holy shit, DO NOT drain the side river. It is a gem and a great asset for the citizens. The greenery adjecent to it likely helps reduce the heat island effect, promotes breezes, and I likely a popular location for grilling and hanging out. You should rather revitilize it by properly adding paths and content alongside it.
  • @bjroo
John Barlow Lane (or as the hip people calm it: JB Lane). Maybe John Barlow was an important person in Riverview history lol. Anyway AMAZING build. I can’t wait to see more gentrification
