  • Don’t you sometimes get the feeling some people want to be scammed? That Australian guy who was scammed out of $50k and went back for more? It’s almost like an addiction. Anyways, the ping pong balls trick impressed me most. That’s all I’m going to say. Enjoy the nightlife in Bangkok peeps!

Also, I've lived in Thailand for 12 years now. I've never been scammed. If you are thinking of coming to Thailand dont be put off by this. All these scams are real. But for-warned is for-armed. My advice is never use a tuk tuk. Dont go to Pat pong. Dont fall in love with a bar girl. And once youve seen one temple - you've seen em all.
  • Thank you for doing this! The woman angry with you filming said in Thai that you have been filming for three days already. You are correct they have been watching you as well.

The scam scene goes much, much deeper, much deeper - I lived and worked there for 21 years, many do believe it is business!

I lived in Kuala Lumpur, manila and visited Singapore, but nowhere did I have to be as vigilant about scammers as in Thailand. In Singapore, you won't have any problems. In Kuala Lumpur, you may encounter issues with taxi drivers, but with Grab, that's history. The scammers in Thailand are highly organized, unlike in the Philippines. However, in my opinion, the worst scammers are those who steal your time, such as taxi drivers who take unnecessarily long routes and so on. Because during a two-week holiday, you may tolerate scammers who take 5 euros from you, but if they cost you time, it becomes more painful.
  • I've traveled to every single major Asian city, many of them multiple times over. You can find scams in most of these cities like Bangkok or Hong Kong, but I have never been scammed. If you just stick to doing normal tourist things, ignore anyone that approaches you on the street for something, and only get involved in activities that you know are legit because they have websites and online reviews that you can read, you'll be just fine.

The police and the scammers are all in it together.

First time in Thailand for 3weeks & just got back. We fell for the tuktuk shops tour...bought a not so expensive item with certificate. Found another similar trick few days after, & realised their ways. There are scammers all over the world. We decided to focus on the good experiences and made the most of it. Moved on and the rest will just be a history. All 6countries on the trip had their share of eye opener experiences.Home safely & this is what matters. ❤🙏 I also believe in Karma...so will leave it that way.

I really enjoy your documentaries. It requires a lot of bravery and patience to make this. I really appreciate you and your crew. Can you make more episodes in South East Asian countries? Thank you so much 😍

I've met many who got scammed, but over a dozen trips to Thailand( islands, north villages) I never had any issues. Back like 10-15 years ago the tuk-tuk scams were so nice, I used those to roam around the city. Basically I would negotiate to pay nothing to my chosen destination if I quickly visit a tailor shop or a jewelery shop. Drivers would get a commission just by bringing me there. I'd spend 5 minutes, pretending to shop then leave and the driver would take me to my spots. It was amazing as a backpacker student.

It's always a sight to see how they scam people is not "illegal" but if someone wants to bust them then its suddenly "illegal" :face-blue-smiling: these scammers deserve to go to hell

"This is the Bangkok I've come to uncover". It doesn't take much effort to "uncover" vices in Bangkok since they're right in front of your face! 😂
