Join me, Megan Ashley, as I sit down with the remarkable Nona Jones. Together, we explore the rejuvenating feeling of 2024, sharing our sense of hope and the refreshing idea of surrendering to a higher power's plan. Our candid discussion reveals how both of us are entering this new chapter with optimism, despite past hardships. As we warm up with some light-hearted icebreakers, Nona's passion for reading and love for a diverse array of cuisines shine through, alongside our mutual adoration for Thai food and running as a preferred way to stay fit.

Listen in as we unpack the complex and emotional landscape of weight loss and fitness journeys. From my own battle with motivation and the impact of mental health on my body, to Nona's inspiring story of overcoming childhood trauma and a lifelong struggle with weight, we share the raw and often overlooked aspects of these personal battles. The conversation then shifts to practical strategies for mothers tackling post-pregnancy weight loss, emphasizing self-accountability and the power of making changes in the moment. We also discuss the significance of an eternal perspective on our actions, and how our spiritual well-being is intrinsically linked to our physical health, with the body serving as a temple that deserves honor and care.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode with Mrs. Nona. Megan, can you please have an episode featuring your mom since you mention her often. Would love to see you guys similarities and differences in speech, demeanor etc. and get some gems from her as well being a kingdom women herself.
  • Whew the entire episode was fire but when Nona said, " Look for a church where God is God. Not the Pastor. Where God is God. A church where people are longing to be close to God not the Pastor. There's a big difference." WHEWWWWW yes .

It crazy because this morning I was beyond tired, my 1 year old had been teething all night, endless cries, all that, and I had to be in the gym by 5:30am, I remember thinking to myself that this can either be the excuse that I use to get out of the gym or the motivation to go even harder in the gym. I looked up to the ceiling calling onto to God to be my strength, got up, got ready and went. Did I make it at the time I wanted? No, did I show up either way, yes!

The way every message speaks to me lets me know that I need to answer his call. I am so appreciative that I’ve found you. God sent you to me! This retreat is going to be 🔥
  • MAN oh man did this episode bless me!! So many gems and ah ha moments. From being rejected and not knowing how to identify it... to the book suggestions. I grew up in church, left in my 30's, and at 46, have rededicated my life to Christ. I feel like a baby. Starting from the very beginning. But THIS time, I have a better understanding of who God is. What He means to me. And how important reading The Word is. My God. Thank you ladies for this episode. Thank you 🥰
  • "I decided in that moment that I was not going to allow the vision I had for my future to be in any way contingent on somebody else's decision". ❤‍🔥
  • This is such a kiss from Jesus! I just discovered Nona a few weeks ago after her “Gift of Rejection” sermon! It’s amazing that she is now on your podcast!💕

OOOOO I NEEDED THIS! Nona waking up in the morning and not having energy struck a cord! definitely need to pray to God to give me strength in those moments. It's crazy how the simplest things can go over our heads sometimes
  • "Allow your plateau to be your motivation to Work Harder" 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Gurl!!! I almost took Awf!!! 🗣🗣🗣💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
  • Megan you are truly amazing! I look up to you & your love for God. You encourage me everyday to keep going!! Like Nona said, God is all over you!!! 🫶🏽💜🥰🙏🏽💕✨

Every episode is Holy Spirit led and I love it and here for it, God is truly all over you Megan..Thank You 🙏🏾♥️
  • This was absolutely beautiful. I feel so encouraged after listening to the two of you today. Continue spreading the word of God to His people. We need it!!
  • Wow!! That prayer that she says every morning before getting up to work out is so empowering!! It’s also funny that she mentioned the runners that she would see on the road. I too, looked at them like, “Wow!!” When I look back on one of my healthiest transformation in life (which was grown out of my lowest) I became a runner and at one point CONSIDERED (only considered haha) entering a marathon. I don’t know that I’ll ever go back running. But it’s definitely one of my fondest memories of myself; that and my journey of weight loss through dancing.
  • Listen!!!!!!! This episode owes me NOTHING I tell you. This was literally her best episode.. There were many times I had to pause, rewind and write the notes. Ya'll I love love Nona and I just knew this collab was going to be explosive... I loved this episode so much, it was well balanced light and deep at the same time, I couldn't take my eyes away or even move from my couch... Good job Meg and we bless God for both of you and Mona's continued Yes to God. I will be rewatching this episode as many times as I can. Well Done.
