For those of you learning: there’s actually(probably) a thread cutter attached to your machine, so you don’t have to worry about using scissors to cut it when you’re done. 😊 it’s seriously a life saver.
  • This is honestly the best beginner sewing tutorial I've ever seen. You explained everything so clearly and didn't assume we knew anything - I've watched longer videos that cover less material and they weren't nearly as helpful as this one. THANK YOUUU ♥ Going to attempt that tote bag for my first project!
  • I have not seen your utube before. I am an older woman and I have sewn all of my life. I am so impressed with your beginning sewing program. Good job! I will recommend your utube for young people that want to learn to sew. Thank you. Janet in Idaho

For those looking in the comments to see if this video is beginner friendly: it TOTALLY is! I have never even touched a sewing machine before. Right now it is 2 am and I am trying to sew the bag thanks to this tutorial. :)
  • @amateurmistake
Ahhh i have such a love-hate-relationship with my sewing machine!!! Sometimes it just doesn’t work out so my seam ripper is my best friend by now haha
  • @kaitleggett3618
Seriously... THANK YOU FOR THIS! This is the best beginner tutorial I've watched, and I really appreciate you explaining even the smallest things! I'm so excited to start sewing now.
  • @kukichik2553
Love your tutorial! Never sewed or used a machine in my life but you have taken me from overwhelmed to “I can do this.” Thank you sincerely ☺️
  • @jkel5299
Fantastic tutorial! I watched it yesterday – my very first day of sewing – and about 3 hours after I had learned how to thread the machine, I had already made a smaller version of the tote bag in the video, using an old bedsheet and following along with many pauses and rewinds. Thank you for this great confidence-boosting video!
  • @whozzurii
I love the way she explains EVERYTHING For beginners, I’ve watched so many videos and could never understand what to do, THANK YOU 🙏
  • @gigglelipz4796
I took sewing classes in high school eons ago and hadn't touched a sewing machine up unti this past year. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. I am so excited that you're doing these videos!
  • @amberiscoool
My mom got me a sewing machine for my birthday and I haven't used it yet because I didn't know how. Now I do! You explained it so well and I am really excited to make a tote bag!! 🥰
  • @lilferret8815
I made it! With my own ferret paws! Thank you for posting this lesson! It is so pleasant to learn from you, someone who enjoys sewing. Other yt tutorial hosts begin by saying, "I don't like to sew". This ferret doesn't want to learn a craft from someone who doesn't enjoy it themselves. It's also nice learn it from a younger person, most all the other ppl making sewing vids are old. I appreciate learning from someone closer to my age, I feel like I can relate to you more than an old person. Thank you for all your hard work!
  • @ladyb1rdd
You first inspired me to crochet and now i've got a sewing machine for christmas too!! Cant wait to learn with you, thank u for ur videos <3
  • @suburbohemian
As someone who's barely sewn since 7th grade in junior high (1974!!!), I appreciate your lack of proper terminology and how much less intimidating it makes the process. Don't ya wish they'd simply called the 'good' side the 'outside' to begin with?
  • @Julissax1904
I love it! Even though I have sewed already a little bit, I also learned a bit more with this video, thank you sooo much! Also maybe good to show how the needle goes in the machine if it needs to be changed when broken. I love this series 😁
  • @patsyhale7288
I haven’t sewn Since 1970 and just one class. But I just bought my first sewing machine at 68 years old(gift) Singer 4432. I need simple, simple, simple projects 😂. Thank you for your detailed tutorials.
  • @memyselforever
U should really be proud rn bc this is the best sewing tutorial ive seen❤
  • Hint: When you thread your needle be sure your thread is between the slot on the presser foot and not over or wrapped around one of the prongs.
  • This is so useful - I'm looking to get a sewing machine but haven't used one for over a decade so my memory of what I might need is pretty fuzzy. Not just a great intro to sewing machines, but also gives a good idea of what features to look for!
