Last Friday, on June 14, 2024, The House of Representatives passed a bill that will ban DJI drones if it becomes law. That’s right: DJI drones might actually be banned in the U.S. for all users. But with so many different speculations and theories circulating online, we wanted to provide only the facts on what we know so far, as well as what you can do to try and prevent the ban from being passed.

Apparently DJI didn’t pay enough for our corrupt politicians.
  • @TheRcdood
"dont worry it doesn't apply to current drones", goes online to see used drones in the future: $10,000 mavic 2
  • @lathenphoto
Why even suggest anything skydio as alternative drones when they are behind this ban. I will refuse to suggest or recommend them and will not purchase their products until they stop this pay for play legislation

I have a pocket 3 camera from DJI and I like it a lot... BUT.. everytime I transfer files from the micro sd I get a notice that a program needs to finish installing. Now I formated the Micro SD card and I erase everything on after each transfer so the only way any software gets on the SD card has to be something built into the camera that puts this script of program onto the SD card. Now I can simply eject the card while the prompt is on the screen and it goes away but it is there each time I put the SD card into my computers SD slot.... If someone can tell me what this is and/or how to stop it please let me know.

Um the FCC can revoke current permissions if they choose to.
  • @kpeterrafael
4:20 Parrot is no longer making consumer drones, actually for a good while now...
  • I think your wording is a bit off. There are a few new dji drones that haven’t come out yet that won’t be banned because they have fcc certs.
  • @LegoMango
Where are you reading that it doesn't apply to current DJI drones? Can you share the link? Thanks!
  • If they ban the ability to get a license, does that mean that the very light drones (like the dji mini 3) that don't require a license now will be unaffected? They can still be sold and operated?
  • @foyjustice7212
Will users supply legacy updates? I have a mini se. Nothing serious. But will be upset if its bricked. I take family videos with it.
  • @donmorin5362
What is to stop them from outlawing all electronics made in China
  • @soctnights
Some are saying the wording in the bill bans Federal Agencies from purchasing DJI drones and components and they have 3 years to stop using them. States have to make their own decisions but they can’t use federal grants to purchase. I’m an amateur radio operator and most feature rich and affordable radios are manufactured in China. Better quality radios come from Japan but more expensive. When will iPhones be manufactured in the U.S.?

I did the link to (updated) Oppose the countering CCP drones act campaign and it literally only takes a few minutes! and how good you feel afterwards knowing that you helped contribute to putting an end to this crap!
  • Well known drone, Attorney Ryan Latourrette has said that we will likely still be able to buy new DJI drones for the foreseeable future as even these drones already have FCC approval. Also, he mentioned that the ban if it happens, could take years to implement in which time there will be a slew of lawsuits That may overturn it. This is a much bigger issue than when the federal government banned federal agencies from using DJI drones. So will we be able to purchase a new Mavic 4 Pro when it comes out according to Ryan, most likely. Please see the recent interview between Ryan and Ken Heron on his channel if you want some good news instead of all the doom and gloom being paddled by most YouTube drone presenters.
