I went to China last year, everything was so shocking to me. I can confidently say that China is more advanced than European and American countries, especially in terms of public security and the cleanliness of cities.

China high speed train seating primer: A/F are always window seats, C/D are aisle seats. In 2nd class, seats are 3+2 with ABC on one side of the aisle and DF on the other. In 1st class it's AC + DF. In business class, it's A + F, or AC + F, or A + DF.

Madam, you can tell the crew to adjust the air-conditioning temperature on China's high-speed trains, and the same is true on ordinary trains!
  • @zolo5425
The temperature in the carriage can be adjusted by the staff, but considering the elderly and children, the temperature will not be very low by default.

It's interesting for me, as a Chinese person who has always lived in this country, to hear about different experiences. Because of my business trips, I regularly take high-speed trains. I heard that you complained about the air conditioning in VIP class because it was too hot. However, I always need to wear more layers in second class. I think the key reason is that we have different temperature requirements. Maybe you can ask the attendant to adjust the temperature. I believe they will be glad to help you because it's their responsibility. Additionally, to avoid crime and other unnecessary trouble, I advise you to order a taxi using a mobile app (like Didi, similar to Uber in the USA) in advance or wait in line outside the station.
  • For me, I think the servers that you had pretty good because over here in the UK from Bristol to London cost you £85 and most of the time you don’t have a seat to sit down

For those who are afraid of flying, China is a great place to travel because it is so huge and densely packed with high-speed rail, from the northernmost frigid zone to the southernmost tropical islands, from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the west to the mysterious Taoist mountains in the east.
  • You guys are so famous in Chinese internet now, let me know if I can help in case, I spent 13 years+ in the down under and I am now in Shanghai, speak both English and Chinese. Enjoy your trip (which I guess you have done already)
  • @jerryfish09
You can lower the windows curtain next to you 😂 if you feel hot. It changes very much the temperature.

Thank you for being so truthful to us and China! No matter it's good or bad experience such as the first time you use the toilet onboard the train. China always appreciates truthful comments and suggestions, and they do make us grow and improve. Thank you!

6:49 Usually trains are over cooled. I had to bring long sleeves each time take a HSR. I don't know what happened to you on that business class cabine. It's very likely someone in that cabine made a complain about the low temperature. You could always ask the attendent to adjust the temperature.
  • @Qiushishuo
Josie, there is window curtain you can put it down as in airplane.
  • @Dr.LamCF.
13:20 The pink thing could possibly be called a ‘toilet seat opener’ in English, which can be used to open the toilet lid more conveniently and hygienically.😁
  • @yuqin405
so much detail and a well-narrated vlog. thanks
  • @wjy-sg1qg
8:49 really stunning countryside scene, just like the Toussaint in Witcher 3 !!
  • @stevenchu1216
Regarding the temperature, actually you can have requested the crew to adjust 😅
  • @lizac6705
And one thing you forgot to do on the train - make a coin stand on the tray table. The train is designed to make it smooth and stable so that even a coin can stand properly when it runs.

In Xian, you should try Han Costume of Tang Dynasty, one for lady and another for warrior.
  • @wanlixiao1714
Just tell what you experienced in China. No matter good or bad. Please keep complain bad things so that they can get noticed and improved. Welcome to China! I am in Adelaide for 14 years and I miss my hometown China.
