In May 2023 we decided to hike Hadrian's Wall in an easterly direction from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend. The hike took 6 days in total and was a thoroughly enjoyable and mischievous adventure.

In our hiking packs we carried all of our gear including the tent which is a 3FUL Lanshan 2. The tent was excellent with plenty of room for 2 and we even managed to squeeze in a dog for a few of the nights as well.

Hadrian's Wall is one of Britain's many national long distance trails so is a real bucket list journey for hikers like myself. We were really pleased to complete the trek and had a great time doing so!

Nice video and big sigh of relief re: the drone. I'm so scared to fly mine over water and always hold my breath until it's back on dry land 😂 good call with Bagel too, that was a very responsible decision. Good dog owners!

Thoroughly enjoyed this video, not done this walk but it’s on the list! Can’t believe I’ve not done this bit of the UK, so informative, great drone content 👌🏼👌🏼

Smashing, thank you. We did this about fifteen years ago and your video brings back many memories. There was only one trust shop then, its good to see that there are more now. Our last three days were in rain and it was awful! We camped on the village green at Wall, very surreal. There was a newly opened hostel, (at Heddon, I think), and it was so nice to have a long hot shower and just crash out for the night. The walk is great but its tedious at the start and end. Would give it another go. I like your content, so new subscriber here!
  • Wonderful travel vlog. Thoroughly enjoyed, part of the UK I’ve never seen

Can I ask what you guys did for filling up water and going to the bathroom along the way? I will be hiking in about a month and it would be great to hear from a fellow lady that did the hike. Such a great video, thank you for putting it together!

Great video and love your video style. Thanks for sharing!

Completed our walk last Friday, your video was very helpful. Cheers pal
  • Great vid, thanks for sharing, might make this my first long distance walk.
  • I live about halfway along the wall, and trust me the rain is often nicer than the baking sun when you're up on the fell tops above Haltwhistle! There's times on hot days when there's no wind and no shade and you just dream of a few drops of rain to cool you off 😂 Edit: lol, I should watch until the end before commenting. I'm glad the folks at Chesters helped you out. Good effort by all 3 of you!

Well done Jonny & Lara, good trail vid 👍 I did the HWP last year and my own videos. Had a great time! Subbed 👍 Justin
  • Boy, you guys sure had it easy! I am in Florida and been watching several videos of people who have done the entire Appalachian Trail! You need to check them out. I think you have to be crazy to do the hike here but thousands have done it. One thing in common, you and our hikers seem to end up having to hike in a lot of rain!
  • Doing this walk in a couple of weeks, I'm a Geordie lad and no part of me can handle the idea of finishing in the shite hole that is Wallsend. I'll be pushing on to Tynemouth and making it a coast to coast with a slightly more picturesque end location to have a celebratory pint 🍺 Enjoyed the vid. Nice to see there's quite a few honesty boxes along the way. Wasn't expecting that.
  • I always assumed that Hadrian's wall was on the border between Scotland and England!! Only recently found out that isn't the case, LOL.

Great video! My mother wants to do this so I’ve been researching it. Looks like west to east is much better even if east to west ends with a more spectacular finish. Good luck in Slovenia!

before you make camp priority is to build a defence system first,
