In honor of Joan Angela D'Alessandro, who was murdered at the age of 7 when delivering girl scout cookies on Holy Thursday 1973.

Joan was a happy child with a twinkle in her eye, she was a leader, sociable. She loved to try out new experiences, such as snowboarding, her outgoing witty nature was balanced by a gentleness, she looked out for those around her and made them feel welcome, she was very empathetic, always concerned with other peoples feelings and hurts. She loved pizza, on a day that was her birthday and first day of school, she was so happy to wear a corsage on her jumper that her family had created for her, made of pennies and lifesavers. She would roll her eyes and say "oh boy", if someone was making a fuss over something small, she would exclaim "big whoop!", she had a spunky and magnetic personality, she loved wholeheartedly, and continues to be deeply missed.

Joans Joy was created by her mother, Rosemarie. Creating and offering safety programs, and fighting for new laws, they provide support for neglected and abused children through fun and educational excursions and help victims of crime through consultation.
