I hurts knowing that all the Black Armory places are still there, but Ada is just a shadow of her former self since the game mode was SCV'ed

Fun fact about the forge in the cave on earth, if you have any of the weapons saved in your vault, you can still see the hidden symbols.

when I first played destiny 2 I would explore a lot of these empty areas, there was a sense of wonder and mystery— I had no clue they were leftovers from past content, but it makes sense.

There was once infrastructure beyond the Last City. If I'm remembering correctly, there was even a rail network that was abandoned when the Fallen stepped up their attacks. So areas beyond the walls might have been used as transfer stations to prevent a permanent rail infrastructure creating a weak point.
  • That city outside the wall and also the city inside the wall are contantly updating, every so many weeks things are added. Its always cool to check how things expand like that.

Makes me wanna cry seeing all the old stuff again, reminds me of the good ole days when times were simpler and my grandma was still alive and doing well…

This has been one ofDestiny’s biggest issues. They make these great sandboxes but do nothing to make players return. They could have utilised the infinite forest concept for every lost sector with multiple tile sets and encounters. They could have added world bosses in public areas. Something to make players return to the world they are trying to save

Destiny 1 and 2 has been a truly one of a kind gaming experience. When i started gaming in the 80s i couldnt imaging games being like this 40 years later. Even though the game isnt great now ill still look back fondly on it.

PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE. I adore the excitement of uncovering old content, it’s just so nostalgic.
  • I've said it before and will say it again. They need to do expansions for places we've been to. Imagine the ENTIRE Cosmodrome being explorable. Puzzles, bigger lost sectors, a world boss, events that happen every so often that can open up certain parts of the map depending on how players did. If anyone has played Guild Wars 2, you'll probably understand what I mean. Imagine an actual warzone. Multiple Fallen walker tanks, a baron leading captains and dregs. A mini Twilight Gap like event that can drop decent loot and can happen anywhere on the map. Makes me wish I had the ability to do game design cause a shooter like destiny where you actually fight an army with other players would be fun. Imagine going through the headquarters that's near the middle, it's filled with Fallen tech or a mini Hive burrow. once a week you and others can enter to fight for the complex. Taking on enemies that aren't boss tanky, but they don't feel like push overs. The possibilities could be endless. But that would also require them to buckle down, which at this point might be asking too much due to everything that's happened
  • I like exploring the old, unused areas of maps like EDZ and Nessus, and shooting the enemies there to remind them I know they're still hanging about (I see you, Fallen in the Salt Mines...) I'll occasionally find myself in the big Nessus underground hollow with all the crystals and the waterfalls, or going to find the dead Captain - it's a shame they took all the dialogue of the hidden scannables away. And I didn't even KNOW there was a cave right at the start of the Exodus Crash strike until I went OOB to get there - it must have been part of vanilla D2 that went out of use before I picked the game up again after I quit D1

If the forges are Litterly still there in game then they should be allowing us to have the black armory weapons. What was the point in sunsetting them if there activity location wasn’t gonna be removed
  • @LegendOfFarore
a mission inside the crashed almighty would have been epic and is such a missed opportunity

A reminder that some of the Seraph Bunker entrances are still in the game. Don't recall if they still have their interiors but I do recall one of them, the one on the Moon, was repurposed for a Vanguard Op mission.

People always complained about areas being reused but revisiting older areas in a new context was always interesting for me. The missions inside the Vault of Glass, variations on strikes, the many missions in D1 taking place in the same areas so long as they all added some kind of context or reason, the leviathan for Haunted - interesting and efficient uses of the amazing worlds they've built over the years.

i was just at the Lost Fuselage the other day with my sniper from Black armory and you can still use it to see the invisible symbols on the side of the container
