  • As a 56 year old Kiwi, I can honestly say that I've never heard of a shopping trolley being called a trundler.
  • @Andy_M986
You didn't prepare the Marmite and butter ratio properly obviously, it's an art form to nail the correct ratio.

Painted fences are a thing here for a reason the intense sun here warps timber badly the paint helps stop that from happening.

As a person from Christchurch NZ, I can assure you "tea" meaning dinner is very common and is easily distinguishable from "tea" meaning drink because the drink usually has the prefix "cuppa" as in "cuppa tea".

Whittakers chocolate is still made with sugar as other brands use palm oil and sweeteners, pride in made in New Zealand products has become a popular thing for us kiwis and we all so appreciate guests coming to nz to experience our true love for life thank you for your love
  • The bird is a probably bell bird and a marmite has to be spread really thinly and is great on buttered toast. A jar will last years. You probably put too much on. It’s like saying you don’t like salt because you poured it on your food.
  • @maltnz
Fairy bread is untoasted bread - it has to be fresh white bread and soft real butter.
  • Lolly cake ingredients: Malt biscuits, butter, condensed milk and Eskimo sweets ( like a hard marshmallow) made into a log and rolled in coconut.

I’ve never called a shopping trolley a trundler I never noticed that sign at the supermarket
  • @cadifan
Now you know where we are don't be strangers, you're welcome back anytime.

We found it hard when we immigrated to NZ.People would invite us and say “Bring a plate”???? We assumed that they didn’t have enough empty plates so we brought extras. But” bringing a plate was to contribute food to the meal or supper😝😝😝😝That was usual
  • Mado cracks me up with her Irish accent while speaking English and being from Germany.

Painted fences last longer. My farthers fence is 40 years old. Still looks new.
  • Thankyou so much guys for being in New Zealand, you have probably enriched so many kiwis who have not actually seen their own country including me.........happy trails
  • Rabbits were originally bought by settlers as food, but lots of food escaped! Possums were bought from Australia to start a fur industry. It did not go well so they were released into the bush where they have thrived, unfortunately.
