Utah death row inmate Taberon Honie executed for brutal murder of ex-girlfriend's mother in 1998

Taberon Dave Honie, 48, was convicted of aggravated murder in the July 1998 death of Claudia Benn.
Honie was 22 when he broke into Benn's house in Cedar City after a day of heavy drinking and drug use and repeatedly slashed her throat and stabbed her in other parts of her body. Benn's grandchildren, including Honie's then 2-year-old daughter, were in the house at the time.

I don't know if I agree with the death penalty. However, the defense attorney comments about how the killer was young and drug-addicted. There are plenty of young drug addicts that don't kill a friend by beating them, slashing her throat and sexually assaulting her with a knife. Its an insult to people with substance issues.

Of course his life has changed..in prison he detoxed and couldn't get drugs or alcohol...but did the VICTIMS life change ? How about the children who witnessed this horrific crime?? Let's focus on the VICTIM ..not the criminal and his woes...he chose to do it and now faces the CONSEQUENCES...ITS TIME FOLKS FACE THE CONSEQUENCES FOR WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO DO and stop feeling bad for them...this guy did it and now deal with it

I wish we had the DP here in the UK we have some inhuman beings here that I would gladly flip the switch on! And there is NO DOUBT these are the killers who did the horrible crimes, just take a look at recent murders in the south of UK then you will know, or the recent murders of three innocent children there should be no 27 years in prison on tax payers money for these dispicable crimes! These people who want the DP abolished are not thinking about the REAL victims here!
