In 1690, years elapsed since Captain Blood received a royal pardon for his audacious exploits against the Spanish in the Spanish Main. He resides tranquilly on his West Indies estate, practicing as a medic and planning nuptials with Isabella. However, this serene life is disrupted when Hilary Evans arrives to detain him on allegations of piracy. An unknown party has been plundering the islands, implicating Captain Blood. To establish his innocence, Captain Blood must once more hoist the "Jolly Roger" and embark on the seas.

    Louis Heyward. Lively and charismatic he is. Errol Flynn he is NOT. A good flick nonetheless.

    I love the old pirate movies! Louis Heyward was a bit "long in the tooth" as they say, in this movie. And he was definitely not as good as the original Captain Blood, Errol Flynn. But Louis Heyward was a good actor, and did a decent job in this physically demanding role considering he was no longer a young man. He also definitely did not display the handsome virality that Errol Flynn displayed in even in his older years in these swashbuckler roles. There was definitely a lack of the sex appeal Louis displayed in many movies in his younger days. That is what was lacking most in this movie; chemistry between Louis and his love interest, Lady Isabella, played by the beautiful actress Patricia Medina.
