Molds maybe gone, but the files... that's another story. A few years back I got into 3D printing. The library that had the printers also had 3D scanners. I thought I'd scan some of the Toa masks and weapons so to print them in non-factory colors like a blue flame sword or green Onua claws. That's where I learned, Lego digitized their libraby of parts and pieces. I think they were experimenting if 3D printing might work for pieces still sought after but too expensive or too niche to reproduce. I don't remember what fell through but Lego pulled the plug on the element library, but not before several folks downloaded the files. It could take some digging, but I'm sure you could find printable files for most Lego/Technic elements up to Bionicle's 2nd generation.
  • I loved bionicle as a kid I’m glad they’re bringing it back
  • @zphyr6780
I can see them rebooting Bionicle and making a standalone line if they make them like this. Bc they’re brick built it’ll probably be cheaper and easier for them while still making Bionicle fans happy
  • For how limited it is as a GWP, they really packed this box to the brim with nostalgia.

The mask of light theme at the intro 😩❤️

I have always wanted Lego to do something like this with their Mixel joints, didn't even have to be Bionicle. The Nexo/Marvel mechs have come close to what I want, but this is much closer. Reminds me of HG Gundam kits.
  • Dude, I'm glad you love it and you enjoy the other sets you got. Let's not pretend that this was given away at a loss. TLG set things up so that you would buy a lot of stuff to get this. The metrics on previous major gift with purchase sets showed a huge spike in sales. That's the point, more sales.

LET'S GOOOOOOO9OOOO Also while that is technically a matoran the correct term to use is mctoran
  • @Ranma_Leopard
It looks like a great brick built tahu but like you id rather they bring back the og one (but maybe with more articulated arms and legs). It makes me nostalgic
  • Ngl the brick built Tahu and Takua is something I absoultely love using the mixel parts honestly just makes sense and also the Mata Nui Online style absolutely rocks Also alternate way to do the ankle tiltage: just legnthen the foot and use a smooth brick and stud on the font to pivot
  • @LucasHinojos
FanTASTIC review! Loved the montage of all the poses
  • Aw man, I love this so much and it’s nostalgia! I really hope they make a line like this. Fun fact you probably knew, but in the mask of light movie, tahu has the same voice actor as rattrap, dinobot, etc.
  • Being honest, i would love a new Bionicle line made like this It allows for more creative things
  • Would love to see all the original Toa get made in this style. Perhaps with a few upgrades like the ankle tilts you brought up.
  • That music at the beginning just hit in the right spot. I feel happier now. Also tho LEGO neeeeeeds to license bionicle out to some who will treat it right.
  • When I saw this I cried tears of joy bionicle and transformers both mean the world to me and when bionicle left both times it hurt me and now seeing a brand new build like this makes me feel incredibly happy
  • @ThePuff18
So TTG If you were to pick a buddy (like Repugnus or Shockwave for TRDQ or TFanpage1010 respectively), which figure would it be? Would it be a transformer? A Bionicle? What say you? And just so I can say that this comment relates to Bionicle, I never actually got into the original Bionicle, but as a die hard Hero Factory fan, ball joints have made me it’s bitch just the same as all y’all. However, when they rebooted it, as a HF fan who was starved for new content, I JUMPED on it. And it was awesome! I got all of the main characters from season two with their beast things, plus a few from season one, as well as the double pack from season two with the bad guy! And LET ME TELL YOU: it was sick! And now that they seem to be making Bionicle again (hopefully), imagine how well a Playset would work with bricks! Speaking of playsets, imagine a MASSIVE Imaginex-style TF set that, instead of turning into a robot, just had a shitload of gimmicks, AND could use A I R lock!
  • A few weeks ago, my son was given a bag of broken transformers for him (me!) to fix up, to play with and inside the bag there was also a Bionicle (have no idea which one and obviously incomplete) but he loves the damn thing to death and it now has a honoured place in his transformers collection and gets to fight in many battles.
