Banjo-Tooie is a classic 3D platformer developed by Rare, initially released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000 and later on the Xbox. It's a direct sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, following the whimsical adventures of Banjo the bear and Kazooie the bird. This time, they must thwart the plans of the wicked witch Gruntilda, who has returned from her rock-bound prison to drain life forces and regain her lost beauty.     As long as you have the faster swimming, the underwater sections of Jolly's always worked fine for me and had a great atmosphere, with there still being plenty of land sections to break swimming up. It also gives one of my favourite transformations in the game (even if you don't do alot with it), which gives some extra fun to do.

    Seaman's Surprise... Rare knew exactly what they were doing when they put that on the menu. And I guess they knew they'd somehow get off scot free in doing so. As far as Jolly Roger's Lagoon goes, I definitely recommend unlocking faster swimming before coming here so that you don't find yourself going so slow. There's some cool places underwater, especially Atlantis, and also the Locker's Cavern and being able to see all the names on the lockers. That was a cool easter egg

    The Get Jiggy Cheat just tells you what the Jiggies are for each world similar to the Star names in Mario 64. It's really not useful in the Xbox version as a better version of it exists in the "Help & Options" menu without having to unlock it

    Project Dream / Banjo-Kazooie's development is super interesting! I did some "reseach" on it at one point and it's fascinating to see all the times they restarted development for one reason or another. It's a bit of a miracle that it came out honestly, it was in development hell for a while!

    I've always preferred Isle of Hags to Grunty's Lair, mostly because by dividing the overworld into individual chunks instead of a sprawling mess, it's much harder to get lost, IMO.

    Grunty's Industries is one of those levels, upon replaying, I dread but once I begin, I have the most fun. I genuinely LOVE the level, it makes me feel so smart when I remember the layout of each floor and what goes where. I'm not surprised that Grunty's Industries is not liked and especially so with those who are bad at navigating. Genuinely love the level, I dare say it might be one of my favorites to play.

    This is actually one of my favorite worlds personally, and probably my favorite water level in any game. (Not drowning certainly helps.) The land portion has a lot of personality and the underwater portion is frankly beautiful even on the N64. As for those other two worlds you opened up, I actually do like Grunty Industries as well. I totally get why people don't but I've always admired how intricately designed that place is. It's something I've come to appreciate much more growing up. Sadly, I can't say the same for Terrydactyland, which might just be the only world in either game that I genuinely despite, an honor even Rusty Bucket Bay couldn't claim. I'll get more into why later, but the short answer is that it is very large and very brown. I get it, prehistoric area, but you can definitely make levels like that more visually appealing. Even Glover did that pretty well.

    Honestly, Grunty Industries is probably one of my favorite levels. I think I like it for the same reason I don't really care for Pterodactyl Land, and that's the fact that while it's large, it's large because of multiple interconnected rooms (like a dungeon almost) rather than one absolutely massive, laggy doughnut with a spike through it. (I played Tooie on N64.) As for Jolly Roger's Lagoon, I think it's SUPER cool in concept: a level that is like 10% normal land and 90% underwater caverns and ruins. Very cool concept, just a bit tedious and unwieldy to navigate.

    Banjo-Tooie would be a lot of fun if you could unlock a mode that gives you all the moves and unlocks every world and train station at the start of the game, eliminating backtracking (mostly). Not a backtracking hater btw, I just mean that Tooie's worlds are designed in such a way where the prospect of being able to do anything in any order sounds very appealing.

    I would bet the real reason people despise Jolly Roger's Lagoon is because most people do not find the goldfish upgrade before doing this level on a blind run. Doing it without that speed boost is absolutely excruciating, it takes you an entire minute just to swim across some rooms. A lot of people don't know about sharp turns underwater either, or they have an innate bias against water levels in video games. People also seem to think it's some kind of maze down there, but I would refute that. Most underwater areas loop on themselves in a simple circle. Still tho, it's clear they coulda done a better job making Atlantis easier to navigate...Making the octopuses all be different colors would have helped.

    One use for Ice Eggs that is used in speedruns is that Old King Coal, the boss of Glitter gulch Mine, is VERY weak to the Ice Egg (I think it does like 5 damage as opposed to 3 from the Grenade eggs and can be fired much more rapidly). And because use of the train isn't required until at least Terrydactyl land or Grunty Industries if doing any% glitchless, waiting on doing Old King Coal until you get Ice Eggs, then going back and immediately using the train after is a bit faster I think
