Your info is invaluable!! I put off pursuing my dream for way to long due to fears, or listening to "Nay-sayers"! I got fed up of watching my life pass by and started acting classes a year ago, got an agent, am auditioning for whatever I can find and have a sense of fulfillment I didn't have before. I live in HI, but am preparing for my move back to California where I'm from. I'm reading your book and following your steps to a successful career. I love this journey and thank you for spelling out to us how this business works.

Hi. My name is Stela Gocheva, 22 years old, from Bulgaria. I was a little too late to decide what I want from life. I want to be an actress, more than anything in the wold. Not just an actress, an american actress. I applied to a couple of universities in the UK, for a bachelor degree in theatre. After I graduate, my plan is to get my masters degree in fine arts from UCLA. I know a degree in thatre is not really needed. But as a foreigner, the three years I will spent in the UK will help me get rid of my accent and give me experience, because right now, I have non. My family is not really supportive. Can't really blame them, I mean, come on, a Bulgarian in America as an actress. It looks impossible to them, and to be honest, to me too, sometimes. But even so, I will keep trying until the day I die, because if I'm not an actress, I'm going to be miserable for the rest of my life. Because acting is the only thing that will make me truly happy. I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. To keep it simple, I want to ask you, do you think as a foreigner, if I get rid of my accent completely, I will be able to succeed?    Thank you in advance. 

I was a health science major for two years and then I realized oh my gosh I hate science! I cannot stand looking at a microscope all day. I decided to stop the fears and insecurities of others project on me and am finally pursuing my dream of being in front of the camera. I switched my major to Journalism and am researching auditions I can go to and just throwing myself out there. This is the most bold decision I've took and I am already so happy. I will continue watching your videos ! <3

I have always wanted to pursue a career in acting. I am now in a place where I know that I am ready. I appreciate you for your knowledge and growth and the fact that you are in a position to help others and you share the do's and don'ts is a good thing and for someone who needs all that you have to offer I want to say Thank You.

EXACTLY What I was wondering about auditioning in another state and if you pay for travel, etc...! Thank You! With this new process of self-taping (I first started acting 1986 and we didn't have that!) I wanted to be sure of the process so I didn't start something I cannot commit to. I am learning everything all over again. I have done all community theatre (32 years worth!) and had one extra part in Unbreakable (GREAT experience!). I have had to keep a full-time job so I am trying to figure everything out. It isn't like when I was in college and had a flexible schedule, etc...But I am planning on taking it all on again when I retire so I am trying to keep up with it all!

the reality is it’s hard to constantly pay for the flights when you don’t know if your guaranteed the spot....is there any other way. Shay Mitchell sent in her tape and then they called her and she got the part ,they also paid for the flight.
