The decade my grandparents met and got married! He was an English soldier and she was an innocent Italian girl from a strict Roman Catholic family. She gave up everything to move to the UK with him in '47, so romantic. They had their marriage strife but were together for 61 years in the end, real til death do us part stuff. Thought you may find story interesting, now I watch another lovely video 😊

Omg I love it when these vids go further and further back. My Great Nan was 18-28 during the 1940s (Born in December 1921). She talks about that time alot since she had a stroke. Her memory has cast itself back to her youth. Always love hearing what it was like. She turns 103 this year and is still alive.

The Womens Land Army, that's what that show was about they'd actually do all sorts of farming related jobs over here during the war, we also had a similar initiative to the victory gardens too, Dig for victory was the slogan, if anyone is interested in learning about the war itself I suggest the WW2 in real time channel, and thank you for doing these Jeannie, as someone who loves history particularly the US in the 20th century these are really interesting, I actually put these on in the day because they're so interesting I don't fall asleep
