I still remember how amazed I was when I say 2 floppy drives playing the imperial march. I could have never imagined how far this would go. I can only hope this project keeps surprising me for years to come

End of punching play, throw your cards away I'm your source of zip extraction Cables pump with fear, sucking all bits clear Leading on your data's destruction Test me you will see More is all you need Dedicated to How I'm deleting you Come crawling faster Obey your master Your disc runs faster Obey your master, master Master of drives, I'm reading your strings Twisting your memory, smashing your streams Blinded by me, you can't seek a thing Just call my letter 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master!
  • @nodsib
Holy shit, that guitar solo though. I definitely didn’t think I was going sit through all 8+ minutes, much less be blown away. Incredible drumming effects too
  • Paweł literally went and recreated an ENTIRE EIGHT MINUTE TRACK on Flopptoron. That's what I call dedication.
  • @krunschnew
I'm astonished every time again and again how far the floppotron evolved from it humble beginnings

As an old nerd who spent his youth programming whilst actually having puppets blasting, this cut straight to my heart. Amazing, simply amazing
  • @arutezza
the sliding and vibrato sorta thing on the vocal part is really amazing, its not just like flat midi notes its actually accurate to hetfield
  • As a Metallica fan, I can't believe I listened to this entire thing. As an electrical engineer, I am fascinated by this.
  • If you aren't familiar with the original song (1st, definitely a classic so please do), please note that this isn't just a computer hardware beeping/clicking simulation: it's an exact note-for-note recreation for every instrument + vocals. Amazing.
  • @mspinksosu
I just love how he's nailed the articulation. Every note. Staccato, legato, every little pitch bend or scoop. The vibrato. I've heard my share of MIDI renditions of songs over the years. Nothing comes close to a Floppotron arrangement. It's so freaking good!
  • That interlude was so satisfying to hear, all the parts were programmed so well.
  • @KainzMusic
It's almost scary how accurate this is, the drum fills, the odd time signatures, guitar solos. I am amaze

This brings me back to playing OG Doom in the high school computer lab! Both the music listened to and that it sounds like it should be part of the soundtrack. Love it!

There was a point in the song where I suddenly felt like the lyrics weren't just being sung by the printers, but written by them, I interpreted the rest of the song in this way, and it was great. Tysm for putting the lyrics up there, i never wouldve done this otherwise lol. Also - this made me want to start playing guitar again. I stopped after playing from 8yo to 29. I'm 38 now, and this made me realize just how bad I miss just jamming out for fun. This was so on point it really just reignited my passion for playing music lmao
  • @adamweb
The solo around 6:00 made me crack up, this is so well done!
  • This makes Master of Puppets sound even more like the theme from Doom! Great Job.
  • @LeoAngora
This will be forever in my list of best Metallica covers of all time. Impressive.
  • @expandranon
I've heard this song a thousand times, but I'm terrible at parsing lyrics so I never knew what it was about. Thanks to Floppotron including the lyrics, I now know it's about addiction!
  • @markusthecool
Man, one of the best videos you've done in a while. Utilising everything FLOPPOTRON 3.0 has to offer, sick drum usage of the hard drives AND your edit skills in this one is so good!
