Still one of the swaggiest things in the story so far, Blackbeard was talking all that shit and had those crazy dreams, and was just dicking around the grand fleet on a freaking log raft

there was a theory i saw in a french youtube video that talks about how each of the strawhat represent some sort of monster or demonic/evil chracter while the bleckbeards pirates represent their divine/good conterpart, for example sanji is related to the biblical devil (like his technique diable jambe wich means devil in french) while his opponent's name is jesus. I forgot the rest of the line up (luffy was sun wukong, zoro asura, usopp a tengu, chopper a wendigo, nami a sorceress ...etc) but it seemes like an interesting theory to match up these two crews

I think Shiryu's invisibility is a foil to Zoro's honor. Hiding and stabbing people in the back isn't honorable. I believe the conflict between Shiryu and Zoro will happen during the war on Mary Gieose, as Shiryu interrupts a duel between Zoro and Fujitora by stabbing Fujitora in the back. It seems strange, an invisible man stabbing a blind man who can sense your presence in the back? I think that the invisibility fruit has to have something to conceal one's presence like In in HXH to be viable

I like to compare Luffy and Blackbeard's progress to the Tortoise & The Hare. Blackbeard is the Hare rapidly speeding along at an alarming rate in the race to Pirate King. While Luffy is the Tortoise. Slowly but surely, making his way one step at a time without rushing.

I always viewed Laffitte as the most obvious matchup for Brook. Laffitte used to be a sheriff, Brook was like a royal guard leader or something. Both use cains, and both use hypnotic abilities. Laffitte has proven himself to be very stealthy, and Brook also stole Poneglyphs from Big Mom. Laffitte has wings that of an angel, Brook's powers stem from the icy depths of hell, which is opposite of either of their personalities.

Franky is a Shipwright, so for me he's going to fight Sanjuan Wolf, the living Colossal Battleship

One thing that bothers me about the Sanji-Burgess matchup is that for the rest of the pre-TS crew the roles fit, while Burgess is the helmsman, like Jinbei
