Sweden Provides Ukraine With Airborne Surveillance & Control Aircraft

Ukraine is getting a boost to it’s air defence! Sweden has announced that it will donate two Airborne Surveillance and Control aircraft. More specifically, the Saab ASC 890. The aircraft are part of Sweden’s 16th military aid package, valued at 13.3 billion Swedish krona, equivalent to €1.16 billion euros. This package is the most substantial to date in terms of support to Ukraine.

    🇸🇪 could donate up to 6 (with 3 operational and 3 spares donors), while 🇵🇱 should acquire Saab GlobalEye and donate its two operational airframes, too. With 5 operational AWACS aircraft 🇺🇦 could monitor most of the frontline 24/7. With only 2 it can’t 🤷🏼‍♂️
