Sadly, the masses are not listening to reason. We are in the early stages of a collapse of civilization. This end is still many, many miserable decades away, but it now appears irreversible.

Insightful Sowell is a marvel.

Priority disparity+effort disparity+culture disparity=income disparity

The acceptable income inequality ratio is always infinity, because zero to non-zero is infinity. People who aren't willing to produce anything at all, shouldn't be paid anything.

Free Market Capitalism lifts all boats and when we all contribute to society by working, inventing, innovation creates a civil society with a flow of products and services provided for all. Participation is the key, not sitting on the sofa a asking someone else to do the work. We all must contribute.

If you have little talent, knowledge or something to sell or place you apart......then you are marginalized by yourself. Not marginalized by other people.

Children learn what they live. If you’re raised by Government handouts, it appears ok. If your parent or parents are hard working, it appears ok.

It's no sin to be born into poverty. It's happened to the best of us. However, if you remain poor all your life, then you're doing something wrong. Re-examine what you're doing, and then determine what needs to be done better. Don't rail against "the system" or "inequality."

I think in one clip he used the Aboriginal people of Australia as an example of not knowing what they had. The biggest and easiest deposits of iron ore in the world but no knowledge of how to utilise it. Australia was not short on gold etc either. This can be applied to many native peoples but not all obviously. Take the Aztec, Inca etc. Worked wonders with gold but were defeated in no small part by gunpowder invented in China used by the Spanish. There is no equality between siblings either, children from the same parents can have vastly different outcomes in life.

Incredible insight by Prof. Sowell.Most don't think about that big difference in geography between Western and Eastern Europe.A big reason why Russia was barely out of the Middle Ages before the 20th century.And Sowell is in favor of equal opportunity,not equal outcome.DEI is a sham,it must be Equality,Fairness,and Merit.
