I’m half Japanese/English. When in the UK i get asked where I’m “originally from”. When in Japan i get asked where I’m “originally from”. But repeatedly through out my life Ive been approached by the friendliest Kazakh people asking if I’m Kazakh. It’s nice to feel claimed by someone, even if I’m not 😅

Fun fact; since the Ural River (which flows from the Ural Mountains into the Caspian Sea) is considered part of the Continental boundary between Europe and Asia, that means that the westernmost 10 percent of Kazakhstan (on the west side of said river) is actually in Europe. This means (technically) Kazakhstan is actually a transcontinental country.
