Didn’t Josh Allen also play for the University of Wyoming lol

They need a hard reset and to accept they'll suck for 3 years. Their cap situation is a nightmare.

Here’s my issue with people criticizing the Saints Cap management, it’s typically incredibly ignorant. The Cap management strategy they adopted for the end of Bree’s’ career isn’t something you flip back to in one season, like everyone who criticizes it seems to think. I would also argue, that getting the balance sheet back to zero or below might not even be the best strategy for using the maximum amount of resources to build a team. There’s no “interest” penalty for pushing money into the future. The only real downside is on the owner of the team, because it requires more cash be paid up front. If the owners fine with that, there’s zero reason for the fanbase to complain, it doesn’t effect what they can or cannot do In really anyway, other than moving on from multiple players at the exact same time. They have to space out, moving in from players with large contracts & money pushed into future. For example, they moved on from 3 of those types of players just this season, in Winston, Mike Thomas, & Andrus Peat. They really only have 7 players left who fall under that criteria currently. Jordan, Davis, HoneyBadger, Hill, AK, Ram & Carr. Ram willl retire next season & they already reduced Cam & HoneyBadgers contracts. At the end of the day, they had 2 options, take massive Cap hits over 2 seasons & barely be able to even field a team, most likely winning only a couple days, OR, the plan they chose, a staggered reset over about 5 seasons, that allows them to remain competitive and if things work out, they’ll have the same chance to make a run in the playoffs as 90% on the NFL, still giving their Vets like Cam & Davis an opportunity in the twilight of their careers. This IS the best strategy for their Players, Fans & Ownership. The only people who are negatively effected by this strategy are the media & analysts who refuse to understand what the Saints are doing with their non-conventional Cap management.

Saints replaced their horrible OC, and he was a HUGE problem.
  • The Saints have been the most active team on pushing salary cap money into the future. Unfortunately, they have been doing this with now average to below average players who are now past their prime (Kamara - 19M cap hit, Cam Jordon - big contract to 35 year old, Carr - big contract to average player, Ryan Ramzyck - old and injury concerns. Taysom Hill - 35 year old TE, Demario Davis - big contract to 35 year old, Mattison - injury prone corner). At least Philly and the Rams who do similar cap manipulations do it with good players. The Saints will need two years to undo their cap situation and get themselves into a place where they can properly start a rebuild.

Asking whether or not we trust Carr and Allen to win is not the right question to ask. People should be asking if Kubiak and Carr can put together a consistent complimentary offense to keep defenses on their toes and take advantage of the positions their good defense puts them in. As long as they can do that at an average level they will take the weakest NFC conference and be just fine this year. It's incredible how people forget that the saints completely revamped their offensive staff and mindset. I don't expect them to win the super bowl or anything, but if they string together some wins at the end of the season and carry that momentum into the post season anything can happen. Kamara for MVP!!! Geaux Saints!!

All haters make these videos. They want the saints to blow it up and become the new Carolina Panthers
  • @me_boone
9-8 last season and they fixed their biggest problem by changing the offensive coordinator. They addressed the pass rush and offensive line concerns. Salary cap issues don't exist. They have been dealing with that "issue" for twenty years and they've been one of the best teams through that span. Weird that you would critique the defense at all. It will always be good as long as Dennis Allen is there and it's full of good players. People say they should blow it up and rebuild, guess what, they are rebuilding. Just a few years after Brees and Payton left, they are already getting better and finding a new identity. Most "cap issues" are clearing up just in time to start over paying other players in the next couple of seasons. they already have a very good roster that is weak at a couple positions. Seems like they set themselves up pretty well. Falcons ain't winning squat.
  • @Gallalad1
I agree the Saints need to rebuild but I absolutely think Kubiak will do wonders for the run game. Carmichael didn’t know how to call run plays and the O line was so weak at it even when they were ran it was basically the running back against the whole D line. Kubiak has already been working on far more run plays in camp especially around the full back. I expect the run play numbers to go up. I don’t know how much but more
  • Overall great points, but slight pushback on the GM salary cap mechanics comment. They started this max salary short term view as Brees aged and Payton wanted to try for it all, instead of it being those two covering for it this whole time. One can say they should have stopped when he retired, but ownership has a lot of say in whether they want to accept that type of embarrassing play for a year or two
  • @SenorJuan2023
Shaheed will be fantastic, AT Perry will be solid. Taysom Hill is still a stud.
  • Can’t wait til they prove everyone wrong this year who dat 🔥 but yes they should’ve blown it up when Drew retired
  • @ItsMeHammie
Unless you're over the age of 35 I feel like a lot of these young commentators write off athletes in their late 20s to early 30s. There is no concern. Those players are still in their prime and unless they sustained major injuries they will perform just as well or better than a 24 year old. It's like you forget these are top athletes not 33yo suburban dads.
  • @Manchu504
This is great stuff! Hope to see videos on all the teams, appreciate the content
  • Yall worried about the Saints Cap, yall need to be talking about any Team that's paying their QB more than/ just as much as Mahomes lol. They're paying them more money with more help but cant beat him at the highest stage. 🤦‍♂️😂
  • There is a lot I disagree with in this video. Mostly all of the national talk analysis which gets a lot wrong about this team. We have an upgraded team from last season. We lost the tie breaker to get into the playoffs. No reason to think the falcons which have been extremely mid for 10 years now will all of a sudden win the division because they upgraded their QB position with an aging QB that is coming off of a major injury. Don't count the Saints out of playoff talk even at a 9-8 record because that can win this division, look at the bucs last season. Go listen to some local analyst shows and you will get a very different feel to this team.
  • How is this roster the least inspiring in the NFL? The Panthers are literally next door in the same division. Are the Titans inspiring? The Giants? I dont see how they are in the same category.
  • The dolphins were also terrible vs playoff teams, so were the cowboys. I’d argue their future is even more concerning because their QBs will get paid big
