My Grandfather was a Marine and the main male figure in my life. I enlisted in the Marine Corps when I was 20 to be just like him. Before the end, he suffered from severe dementia. He would often forget who my mom, my aunts, uncles, and my cousins were or even that they were there next to him. I was his youngest grandchild and he'd always call me "Little guy". I was only one he'd ever remember. He'd remember me and then call me "Not-so-little little guy" and constantly go on about how proud of me he was for enlisting. When I came back from bootcamp he was gone. He never got to see me in uniform. So I often wonder "Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?" I wonder if he would be the same as when he left this earth, or if he would be the kind, loving, and smart man we prefer to remember him as before he began to deteriorate...My family tells me he held on as long as he could and only passed on when he was sure he didn't have to worry about me anymore...I never got to say goodbye, but I'm always thankful for songs like these. They help with catharsis and closure.

My father favorite this song and I really miss him so much he passed away last may 23,2021 I miss him so badly😭

I lost my 2nd child at 6weeks. I have been staying strong for a week now however, i feel like i haven’t fully accepted it yet. And this song helped me relieve my loneliness. I know my child’s in heaven now. I know this sadness wont go away immediately, but the relief that I’m feeling right now helps.

I dedicated this song to the most beautiful woman I have ever met! She gave me faith in people again her heart was so big and she truly loved and cared about others. And God called her home.
