These are great tips! As someone who has moved 15 times lol, I would also add that when packing dishes and heavy platters, place them in the box vertically, not lying down flat. If you lay them down flat on each other you risk the ones on the bottom breaking from the weight of the others on top of them. All it takes is the truck going over one good sized bump in the road and you'll end up with more than a few cracked dishes.

I’m moving into a house from an apartment I’m so exited

OMG the handles on boxes tip. I'm so gonna use this when I move!

Better hack for string to tape- just fold under at the tip creating a flap to grap and peel
  • Who else is nervously/excitedly watching this video!!! I move to Memphis Tennessee in two months😱😱
  • Good hacks! As someone who has moved dozens of times myself, the first thing I do before a move is create a "Moving Kit" I take a plastic tote with a handle that I normally store craft supplies in and put all the supplies in it we will need during the moving process: tape, markers, box cutters, work gloves, a multitool, first aid kit, wet wipes, ziploc bags. For long distance moves, I've learned to include an extra phone charger, prescription medicines, granola bars, licenses and shot records for our pets. When we take apart furniture, all the parts go in the moving box labeled in their own zip bags.

The trash bags for clothes one is the BEST. I've done it to go from dorm, to apartment, to back home and it saves SO much time to pack and unpack!

I'M SO EXCITED TO BE MOVING! What videos should I film in the new place? x
  • If your things will be in storage for awhile, try to keep plastic off and out of your belongings, it holds in moisture..also dont pack w. newspaper for long term storage..its a whole new ball park if your storing your belongings. love this video, thanks for the help.

Omg the string under the packing tape is genius. Thank you!

I always used to get boxes from supermarkets when I was younger but now it's like getting blood from a stone! They all just say they get taken away 🙁

We’re moving into our first house and I’m so nervous! I’m mainly overthinking packing, so content like this is super helpful!

I roll my clothes and put them in a plastic bin. I can fit about 30 shirts/blouses in a bin and it takes up a LOT LESS space than a large wardrobe box full of clothes on hangers.

These are great tips. I've moved a lot over the years too and my No. 1 tip, if you're moving right into your new place, is get your bed set up and made, then you can fall into it after a long, hard day of moving. My No. 2 tip, is put your kitchen essentials in one box, i.e., kettle, coffee maker, tea and coffee, couple of mugs and cutlery and don't forget your milk, cream, sugar if you use them. Hope your move goes smoothly Becky.

Just fold the end of the tape on itself so it's like a pull tab. Just like when it's on the roll. You'll never lose the end of the roll again.

Labeling with sharpie is much easier than carrying around several colors of stickers
  • I have been in packaging field for last 5 years...and recently i just shifted my house to near by area and used good grade boxes and tape for maximum security of my house holds... but I was quite surprised with the quality of this particular tape and was very strong compared to normal tapes we find around. If you want to try, Checkout "MS98" tapes in amazon
  • i came home to my current house as a baby and move after tomorrow to a penthouse and bring along a fish dog and 2 birds
