What if UGREEN took almost everything from their large 6-Bay HDD NAS and smashed it into a very tiny and quiet flash NAS? Well, that's more or less what they did with the UGREEN DXP480T which offers four M.2 NVMe SSD bays, a dedicated SSD for the OS image, WiFi, 10GbE port on-board, Thunderbolt 4 and so much more. Join Brian and Kevin in this walkthrough of UNGREEN's smallest NAS and learn more about the hardware design and performance profile from this tiny but mighty NAS.

a huge amount of PR for devices that havent even been put into production as yet. Will be happy to review and possibly buy once they exist.

Pretty crazy little box. Shame flash prices aren't going down anytime soon.

Dear lord, that's where you are filming and with all those servers running? What next? Record the video by the exaust of a jet engine? Or would you prefer getting on the engine bay of a Starship rocket during launch?
  • I really liked the video, especially with this airplane turbine sound, 😅
  • @epsig1507
is it intended to record this video with the loud background noise?

You guys skipped how to remove the plate to get to the Memory module. Why? I want to upgrade the memory module, removed all the screws and still cannot get to it.

I know UGreen stated that you can't just connect the TB4 port to a computer and use it like an external drive when in that configuration. It would be super convenient on this flash model where it's more portable than the 4/6/8 bay units. Have you guys tested this? If you can't just connect it straight into a computer, I'm hoping UGreen realizes the potential of this use case and releases an update in the future so users can connect their PC's into the TB4 port if they want.

What's the difference between the plus version and the not plus version

    Hi good job 👍. DXP480T Plus maximum storage 16 t or 32 t ssd ?

UGreen is shaking up the NAS market with their offerings or at least they are at the Kickstarter pricing.
  • what would it cost to fill this up with ssd’s at it’s max? thanks.

Cudos to UGREEN for putting a massive heatsink and 2 dedicated fans for the NVMEs. Do you see ASUSTORE ? It can be done. The ASUSTORE 12 bay flash nas is just a giant oven when its fully loaded , especially the lower bay has no cooling and it overheats. I think ASUS designed it with m.2 Sata drives in mind but those are pretty much end of development. Nobody bothers with them because they cant compete with NVME. I dont know how are things on your market but here finding anything bigger then 1TB is impossible. If you want bigger - you need NVME which is more expensive and hot.
  • @DKV230
How much it will cost ?
  • Unusual question: would it be possible to run Windows natively on one of these NASs (bare metal)?
  • if one wants to simply play already dowloaded tv shows & 1080p & 4k movies via plex at home only with a mac mini, is there any reason to get the $65 more plus version of the 4 bay, instead of the non-plus of the 4 bay?

I wish it was stackable with expansion to grow over time

Chinese companies don't have a good track record for security or keeping up to date with their software.
