In a shock result, the second round of French elections delivered a victory of sorts to the left-wing New Popular Front alliance, pushing Marine le Pen’s National Rally into third place behind the centrists. But with no group winning a majority in parliament, President Emmanual Macron now faces some difficult choices.

To discuss what it means for France, Europe and the UK’s fledgling government, Kamal and Camilla are joined in the studio by French journalist Charlotte Kan and The Telegraph’s resident Parisian Adelie Pojzman-Pontay.

Plus, how has Prime Minister Keir Starmer fared in his first few days in government? The new Cabinet is off to a flying start, but Kamal and Camilla notice a familiar name that keeps cropping up: Tony Blair. We also have a dispatch from Nigel Farage’s victory tour around his new constituency of Clacton.

  • How France deals with Islam is the real question but they are too afraid to even mention it.

Why are European democracies not allowed or denied their right to remain who they are .....India is Indian , China is Chinese, Japan is Japanese but heaven for bid a European country who allows and facilities people from other countries who they have welcomed and at the same time not wishing to lose their sense of who they are its a complete joke.

The “far far far left” should stop calling the right “far right”

Kamal: "without immigration they'd be no growth' Maybe once that was true, when we had people more of our Christian culture. I don't care about growth if it means those coming don't give a tuppenny toss about our culture, our traditions, our cultural holidays our values and our way of life.

God I can't watch anymore "4 days of labour" and the commentator "I love it" so much for independent analytical journalism.
  • @edmend55
Ha. Labour have to put up now. Watch farage laugh all the way to the next elections.
  • @superelectic45
Funny how we always appear to have a far right wing but never a far left wing, it's always just 'left'
  • NIGEL..FARAGE. IS. ONE. VERY. GOOD. AND. VERY. VERY. GOOD. MAN. OF. UK. PEOPLE. 😊😊😊😊
  • Why hard left not far left? Noticing this more and more. It's always one way when it's about the word far.
  • @roytaylor2161
Is Britain REALLY in for five years of stable government? The cracks are appearing already.

I’m so sick and tired of people tossing about the far right this the far right that. It’s a very inaccurate labeling of people grouping any one with mild or moderate conservative beliefs in with far right anarchism. Just because people want to hold on to their culture and history and be patriotic doesn’t mean they are far right extremists. Seems to me they the far right has cause and reasons to become violent but they haven’t it’s the far left extremists who have exhibited violence against not only Jewish people but British white Anglo-Saxon people let’s start talking about that more often instead of kowtowing to the far left extemists and terrorists supporters. Get a bloody clue!!!
  • France is officially in recession and has been since May. Only Canada is doing worse. Personally, I've put my Paris apartment up for sale since the elections were called. I have 2 other passports - 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇭 - a son in Spain 🇪🇸 and work online. Bank accounts already transferred abroad, perfectly legally. I'm a very middle income earner, save that I own my apartment, have my own business. A minimum wage of 1600 euros means I'd go bankrupt if I wanted to hire someone. My retirement age is already 67, has been since previous president Hollande.
