This was a typical Saturday morning growing up in Auntie Nookie's apartment on the 5th floor of the Darst-Webbe Housing Projects. I nearly lost it when Mtume came on and when Gladys came on I was in tears because if I could pick a woman to be my mother, it would be her with Patty a close second. These women and their music were a big part of my childhood and Auntie Nookie loved them all.
