Beyblade X: Proper strategy with parts, launch techniques, and general knowledge gives great amounts of competitive and casual fun. Bakugan G3: you like gambling?
  • @leviathan67
honestly i love bakugan to death but beyblade is just simpler to learn and flashier because of its core design
  • It's honestly really funny and nostalgic to see that Bakugan and Beyblade are STILL fighting all these years later.
  • @brunobock372
Ever since metal fusion, beyblade has understood what makes it fun, and had capitalized heavily on them: 1) it's a simple top game 2) the customization is actually tied to the physical effects and thus, affects the game That gen is a huge shot in the foot for Bakugan
  • @collinwhite5046
This gen of Bakugan doesn’t really do it for me in terms of the game, but making funny looking bakugan combos out of different tops and bottoms definitely brings me joy
  • @zuhayr7965
This could of been a really cool crossover event if both bakugan and Beyblade acknowledged eachother and kinda had a "Vs" thing going on

This is a really good video Jett I am not a Bakugan person but I saw your video pop up in my feed, it is very hard to compete with Beyblade since the game has so much that goes into it, I saw a lot of the "Bakugan Beyblades" and was listening to your commentary they do need a proper direction if they want to make that line interesting in order to be successful. Some things that get pretty difficult too is the idea of game accesiblity, Beyblade to me is generally very accesibe for simple rules and to pick up and play, there is depth to the game that people can look into if they want to but that is one of Beyblades biggest strengths to me. Hope Bakugan does whatever it can and can do well! All the best! ~ Cheers
  • When I see these things spin, my beyblade knowledge kicks in. "Just pick the heaviest stuff" "What about LAD?" Stuff like that.

I think this video is a perfect example of something I've personally learnt from my own market research: Don't. Be. A. Copycat. No matter how much better or as good you think your version of a preexisting product is, it's never going to be enough to win over people who have already invested in the original product. As much as big businesses don't want to take the risk, historically, it's most often been best for a company to make something different that stands out, even if it's a similar product. For example: Magic the Gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! are all TCGs, but they have drastically different aesthetics and gameplay. Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! didn't need to copy Magic 1:1 because they were good in their own right.

I just hope this isn't the end for bakugan. Having such a crucial part of my childhood be brought back from the dead was a dream come true and I don't wanna lose it again
  • @NCHProductions
your "don't subscribe" speech at the very end made me want to comment. yeah, the system is so broken, subscribers are indirectly harming the channel/useless, and you rely more on watch habits so that the recommended algorithm knows what you want to watch. I gave up on my subscribers, it indirectly hurt my content. system is so broken. anyway my rants done, I always come back to this channel now and then to get my update on whats going on in the gimmick toy circle lol.

Honestly I really like the historical education in the intro. Real neat stuff.
  • @artaharon5476
let’s be real, the bakugan pro tcg could’ve been the saving grace if they tried to run it all properly and not just give it up 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • @chaomaster100
Would love to see Bakugan embrace the split gimmick with each part having gimmicks of their own. The bind system has had that idea and its just been sitting there for over a decade, a full line like that plus the new cards with their zones could make for something really dynamic. If they went this route maybe they could modify the special attack ring to just allow that part to spin with something on the bottom to allow it to slide or something, or play into some kind of curve shot gimmick. They really do have every component there but just need to put it together correctly.
  • @SethAbercromby
Man I still remember owning a really old Dragoon beyblade that had the somewhat unique gimmick of having a free-spinning rubber tip. It didn't spin as well or move as fast as some other ones of the time, but the increased friction and the usual Dragoon gimmick of spinning in the opposite direction paired with an aggressive ring gave it very violent impacts against other attackers and it was harder to shove around by stamina or defensive blades.
  • @Dylfunkle
"Special attack bottom" was my nickname in college. XD
  • I honestly feel sad seeing this, in Mexico I couldn't even see packs of cards, I feel like the second generation was a great idea that was left incomplete due to a variety of factors And that in the end they decided to "avoid complications" and make a game as simple as possible, but that somehow has no direction It's possible that it's because I'm older and I love card games and strategy, but damn, thinking of the potential that 2g tcg had and compare it to that poor bakugan shaking and trying to touch a card to open himself I just hope Bakugan is still here with us
  • @MLittleBrony
genuinely, the two halves thing is what drew me into this generation, and it breaks my heart that they don't actually do anything :( if it actually worked like you described it (or even just affected how Special Attack Bakugan spin like Beyblade), i would be unable to stop smiling.
