People need to lighten up. This was exactly what I signed up for when I clicked this. It's a riot.
  • I'm just at the beginning of the video and I did, as an English major, study Byron in university. Seeing those paintings of him, one is just struck dumb by the sheer beauty of the man. Stunning.
  • Byron's greatest achievement was his daughter, Ada, a mathematical genius who is also credited with writing the first computer program.

I find it really quite remarkable that both Byron and Rupe managed to complete their respective adventures without suffering a beat down. I'm pleased it worked out for them.

This documentary made me realise that the fame everyone chases these days is very temporary. No one will be talking about Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton in 100 years; no one will have even heard of them. But in 500 years people will have heard of William Shakespeare and Lord Byron. What's the difference? True talent and real genius. If you want immortal fame, you need to do more than have a reality TV show and millions of Instagram followers.

Rupert is just such gorgeous, elegant eye candy & that voice maids this biography of Byron so friggin' interesting. Thank you fine man!
  • I fell on the floor at Rupert at the Embassy cocktail party exquistely not regailing the 2 guests with his Byron, sherbet and sodomy anecdote. Meryl Streep couldn't react this painfully stilted more beautifully. Hilarious.!! Thank you for this unique and informative journey, I enjoyed it immensely. Pat

Asking Albanians if they want communism back in Albania is like asking the germans if they want the nazis back.

Ruppert wants to check if it is true what Byron said about Hispanic women, and he meets a High class call-girl in a restaurant Iin Portugal! ... What does a call-girl from Portugal have to do with the Hispanic women?. I don't see the connection.

While I don't care for Byron as a poet, I must admit, as a person, he was even worse

What we love is Rupert’s excitement about Byron, his emotion and enthusiasm brings the poet alive for us. He brings him - his beauty, heroism, foibles - into our own spheres.
  • WHO KNEW??? I skipped over Lord Byron in highschool - or maybe.......maybe my teachers skipped over Lord Byron. Fascinating history - WHO KNEW about Albania's passion for him? Cheers

Thank you Rupert Everett for a delicious story of Lord Byron. A beautiful depiction. What an amazing adventure you had. Thanks again for sharing history.

Although Rupert can be quite entertaining I find him quite insufferable, arrogant and overbearing. He's definitely full of himself masking incredible insecurity and a good deal of self loathing. Quite a pity what has become of him. Or was he even young so cynical and somewhat bitter.
